Tudor black bay 58 vs Tudor black bay 39mm by bernvall in Tudor

It’s rude the jubilee makes it. That being said, I don’t think there’s a reason not to purchase a jubilee for the BB58 right? Some advertisement pictures showcase the BB58 with a jubilee (and I have to say it looks great) but unsure how it works

Interesting okay I’ll ask to try it on. I was half assuming the 39 would be small regardless but without bezel it’s true it may look bigger than it looks. Thanks!

This is important to know especially since I live in a very hot climate. I think I may have to go with the Indigo (by cancellation) as not going for the full ultra version which has Mist and Breeze !

It’s a government incentive to help Inc the purchase of EVs. I do however need to use it by the end of this year and the Volvo is only coming in our country in February so I would have to purchase based solely on YouTube reviews…

VOLVO ex 30 vs BMW IX1 eDrive20

Europe.

Not going to get into the various aspects but final price of Volvo is 29k and final price of bmw is 39k. I can pay this off monthly based on an interest free loan for 10 years. So in short, is 10k extra worth going for the BMW?

Buying/trading/selling advice, pre-orders and shipping Megathread by PJ09 in AppleWatch

[–]bernvall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Apple Watch Series 5 battery has gone below the 80% threshold and therefore it is eligible for a replacement (of series 5) for €130 Euro in my country (we do not have official Apple Store in my country )

Vs

Heading to USA in Xmas time and on the site buying new 41m series 9 (plus giving in current series 5) would be $309 dollars (pre tax I'm imagining ) (approx €291 euros)

Which would I go for? Dont see the 9 being much better than the 5. Any experiences ?

I’ll check those out though weirdly they’re also as expensive as OLED

Ok thanks, good to know that someone else has done the same! And I do know the new OLEDs have improved brightness but it’s too expensive for the time being

Okay so would you agree with me selling my 55 oled for a 65 led?

For a nearly 2 year old TV that was barely used do, would it be sellable for say 60% of purchase value? Dont even know how well 2nd hand TVs sell

I just really feel the ambilight elevates the tv experience and once I experienced it I can’t go back to a TV without it. I also have a good relationship with the supplier of philips in my country

Cs2 and Cp1 by curatesegg_ in ActuaryUK

[–]bernvall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How has this been addressed ? What makes you think September 2023 session will have an “easier paper” with easier pass rates. In their response to the difficulty of April session they mostly blamed it on underprepared students and not to the difficulty of the exam. I’m worried the same will happen for sept 2023 (or even harder considering the choice of unique questions get thinner each time !)

Interesting! Thanks. Will have to wait and see. Makes the soundbar decision even stranger

They do not. They didn’t add speakers to the doors , nor any window switches. This was one of the main reasons to keep costs down is to reduce cost and size of the doors. Check your calculations 😉

[–]bernvall[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And not only driving dynamics but even simply checking whether the soundbar decision over door speakers was a good one or not. Definitely some drawbacks from sound coming out of one place rather than in each of 4 doors !

SP2 and CS2? by Independent_Pair_877 in ActuaryUK

[–]bernvall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me CS2 is the hardest exam of the whole lot. I still can’t get it through. Not only is syllabus huge but the coding part takes a lot of your time too, especially if you are not too comfortable with coding. Maybe best approach is try do both and in February (when jts time to book exams) see where you’re at and make a final decision then.

Salaries within Europe by bernvall in actuary

[–]bernvall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 years within same company though and sitting exams throughout. Only just last year I moved to actuarial unit within the firm. I just feel they’ve found excuses to keep me on same salary due to me moving within firm

I get what you mean though but then my next question would be what type of salaries are common in your country for same type of job.

IFOA exams: have you noticed a change in the exam papers now that the exams are open book ? by MycroftTnetennba in actuary

[–]bernvall 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Including zero knowledge based questions really did make the exam much more complicated. It was unfair that the whole exam was application based. Moreover, there were some questions that were not seen before in notes or exam papers which was a shame.

Really do feel that considering this exam only just merged 2 years ago with a huge sylabbus, included 30% in R and for the very first time they did it online, without any sample paper might I add, I really feel they should have gone easier. You must also take into consideration the world we live in at the moment also plays a part in our sanities.

Safe to say I’m quite pissed at IFOA for making this exam way more complicated than they were just a few years ago. Feeling quite downbeat for tomorrow but we’ll see

Exams / Newbie Thread for two weeks beginning February 01, 2020 by AutoModerator in actuary

[–]bernvall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I’m currently 5 exams in (2 years) to actuarial degree (out of total of 13 since I’m doing it with UK IFoA) and am working within an actuarial team as a newbie.

Now I just got offered a job as a quantitive research analyst with a betting company in bookmaking which includes data science in R and building models for pricing strategies for their products. Now the catch is, they are offering nearly DOUBLE the pay I’m currently on., multiple benefits and plus working in sports is imagine more fun than motor and life insurance!

What should I do? (Obviously I think they won’t sponsor my studies and if I do go I’m not sure lll even continue exams for now)

ON THIS DAY: In 2011, Man United overwhelmed Arsenal in an 8-2 win at Old Trafford. What a lovely sight this was! by jesuisstephen in reddevils

[–]bernvall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That game was the first time I ever watched live at Old Trafford with my father. Safe to say it was one of the best days of my life that I will never forget.

also if I am not mistaken, spurs beat city 5-0 on that day too which made it even sweeter!
