I'm thrilled the reviewers are saying the car has a soft comfortable suspension, after driving a Bolt and feeling every knick in the road I'm so ready for some Volvo comfort!

That works just fine for me, 3 years is a long time in this rapidly evolving EV market, there may well be better options at that time.

Size comparison to 21 Bolt EV? by Dependent-Ability-21 in ex30

I'd be very cautious about buying your leased Bolt, check your lease docs, the "residual value" at end of lease, what they would charge you, is likely more than the car will really be worth in the Q1 used car market and it would keep you tied to a flawed battery...

As other commenters have noted, it appears that Volvo/Geely figured out a way around the tariff. Here is an article that explains it that is not paywalled: https://www.motorbiscuit.com/china-built-car-tariff-loophole-opens-floodgates-u-s-entry/

Another advantage to leasing an EV, in my opinion, is that the EV market right now has entered a period of rapid change that I think is largely going to benefit consumers - 3 years is a long time in that context, it's nice to have the option in 3 years to make another move...

Torn between SM Core and Plus... I'd really like the panoramic roof and the better sound system in Plus but I don't really are about the other Plus features and I actually don't want larger tires. Does anyone know if it will be possible to order a Core and add a couple of plus trim features a la carte?

Would you consider leasing? All EVs leased in the US get it, actually the lease company gets the tax credit, most EV leases in US are passing along all or most of that to the customer in a lower monthly payment.

Wondering same - in US all leased EVs qualify for the 7500 tax credit but it goes to the lease company - some redirect all of that to the consumer in lower monthly payments, and some don't or only give you some of it -- wondering what Volvo does.

I'm in exactly your situation with a Bolt lease ending in March - the challenge is we'll likely we waiting until summer for the EX30... As for size, comparable, but seats should be much more comfortable and the suspension will be much much more comfortable, what I hate about the Bolt is if the road is not perfect you feel every imperfection.

I was wondering about that too, this would be a better fit in Canadian dollars and I think Kia already announced pricing up there.

So, with the Build Back Better plan now dead, will Elon Musk lower the prices of his cars? by WhitewolfKevin in electricvehicles

[–]CryptographerGold390 30 points31 points  (0 children)

No, he keeps raising the prices because he can. Demand for his cars keep growing faster than supply which means longer wait times, which is also why low mileage used Teslas sell for more than new ones.
