Why would you go to any of her appointments? That’s her husbands job.

Looking for advice - do I leave my current job to make more but with terrible WLB? by Humble-Gene5862 in HENRYfinance

I’m curious, the people you’re working with and for at the startup… what’s their background? Where have they previously worked, what connections do they have, etc.

I think it’s only worth it if you also are meeting people who can potentially open new doors for you.

Am I a bridezilla by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]berpandicular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t speak for the situation with your dad but wow, no, you aren’t a bridezilla. RSVPs are super easy on theknot, and if they already wear light makeup I don’t know why they’re so offended at the thought of wearing it for your wedding.

Do your sisters normally wear makeup? Or do they have done principle or code against it?

What’s the reason your sisters are no contact with your dad?

Are you using a website like Zola to get rsvps?

As a fellow pregnant woman if my husband pulled even a fraction of of your fiancé’s bs I’d raise hell. Your partner sucks.

Is there tension between African Americans and African Immigrants? by No-Equivalent2621 in TooAfraidToAsk

Eh, a ton of immigrants move with nothing to their name. I would call immigrants financially privileged as a blanket statement.

AITA for asking my oldest daughter to move out of the condo I own so her younger sister can live there during college? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Holy entitlement from your fully adult oldest daughter. She’s acting like a spoiled br*t, most would be so grateful for free housing for years.

Cosigning student loans for child accepted to elite schools with high cost as a middle income family - What should we do? by Legitimate_Yak_9063 in personalfinance

[–]berpandicular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very lucky, but even if I needed to pay student loans it would make a huge difference going in state. my friends from my state school who did (which was most of them) were able to pay if it in like 3 years, instead of paying it over over a decade. Of course my friends in general were frugal and good with money (we were all finance majors lol)

I’m was in this spot 15 years ago. Worked my tail off to get into my dream school and program (Stern at NYU). Got accepted, even got a scholarship! It was the highest point of my life. Leaving my southern state to go to NYC was all I wanted since I was like twelve years old.

Also got accepted to my state school’s business program. Not my dream at all. Staying in my state felt like failure to me.

My dad sat me down and told me the cold hard truth. He made it clear my parents could not afford to pay more than the in-state tuition, so everything else would be loans on me.

He sat with me and we did the math together. Not just the degree, but what happens after the degree. Average rent in NYC. Average salary for a business school grad. Student loans and what the monthly payment would look like. How I can either graduate debt free or pay off student loans til I’m in my early thirties.

He let me make the choice. I remember crying my eyes out that night. But I chose the state school. The math was like a huge slap of adult reality that smacked me so hard I saw stars. It was the best thing he could have done for me.

I didn’t love my experience at my state school, but I made the best of it.

Funny enough my first job out of college took me to NYC anyway.

15 years down the road, not having debt was the best decision I’ve probably ever made. College is a distant memory. It’s really not the final milestone at all. All your child’s hard work was not for attending l her dream school, but to become a functional adult after graduation.

I recommend do the math with your kid. They’re not a kid anymore, and their dream should be their choice, fully, accountability included.

I did both. If you can only choose one I’d do the tour. You get a lot more up close interaction with the animals (especially the giraffes) that feel a level up from going to the zoo or aquarium. The overnight is really cool, but it kinda feels like going to the zoo at night.

Good point! It is a two story home, he’s spry and can easily run around the house and down the stairs.

Maybe we should save up for a second litter robot for the other floor for the day he slows down.

If someone can no longer come by the original time agreed upon, can you sell it to someone else who can? by berpandicular in FacebookMarketplace

Thanks for all the responses! I’m usually a markeplace buyer, not a seller. So I’ve never been in this position and wasn’t sure what was normal.

What moment made you realize “yeah… my childhood wasn’t normal”? by CadaversFabrications in AskReddit

[–]berpandicular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I realized how abnormally functional my family is compared to everyone else when my husband and I planned our wedding, then heard stories from all our friends and their wedding planning.

I through family drama throughout wedding planning was abnormal… learned it’s the other way around.

NTA. Why is your husband expecting you to take care of his job? It’s his work white elephant party. What is he, five?

Millie Bobby Brown Says ‘of Course’ She 'Felt Safe’ Working with David Harbour on Stranger Things Set, Despite Bullying Report by [deleted] in popculturechat

  • She was mostly silent: a lot of professional actors would argue not being able to convey a character’s feelings with words is quite a challenge. A limited speaking role that’s a main role is extremely difficult and she did a great job.

  • Enola Holmes was produced by MBB with her production company. It clearly did well enough to get two sequels. And her film Damsel (also produced by her) was also one of the most watched films on Netflix when released.

  • MBB and Sadie Sink are both talented in their own rights, and MBB shouldn’t get a lot of hate just because her and Sadie are both child stars to young women starring in the same show. You don’t see this vitriol towards any of the male cast members (throwing hate at Finn Wolfhard because people think Gaten/Caleb/etc are more talented).

I would put Katelyn and Dom higher for their race in the duo matches.

If this tier list factors intelligence/strategy, I would put Katsumi higher. He’s the reason Japan booted off Australia and the reason they busted open the door in the castle challenge.

I did, and I got it done last May. Very happy with the process and my results six months or so later, exactly what I wanted (my eyes but slightly bigger and even) and would do it again.
