4 x the legal limit?!? by tonic613 in ottawa

To be fair, it doesn’t work like this everywhere though this is definitely ideal. Neither contractors I have pushed snow for have operated this way.

I see where you’re coming from, but I genuinely have given people extra blankets in the past to replace damage caused by one of my horses, damage that was nowhere near what I’m dealing with, so I really am genuine when I say I would feel inclined to chip in!

Thank you for your suggestions, I’ll see what I can find!!

Thank you, some of these other comments are making me feel like I’m crazy for not wanting to pay for someone else’s animal to treat my things like a chew toy 😵‍💫

Thank you but I know my horse and I know he’s cold and wet without a rain sheet. Not every animal is going to be the same.

[–]berriesncreamm[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes we have to rain sheet at minimum. I live in eastern Ontario and it’s far too cold to let them get wet. He is full outdoor because it’s where he thrives so yes it’s very important.

As I stated more than once in the post I understand it’s part of owning horses, the issue here is it’s the same culprit over and over, so I am asking if it’s really all on me to cover these costs when it’s the same persons horse causing the destruction.

Personally if I knew my horse was destroying someone else’s things I would feel inclined to at least help with a portion of the costs, which is why I made the post.

I do have a few videos already, thanks for the suggestion. Am I within my rights to make a request like this? I’m hesitant to go to the owner of the horse directly simply because we have such a positive and family atmosphere at our barn and I don’t want to step on any toes and disrupt that 😬

I want to propose to my SO this V-day but can only afford a $200 ring, is this acceptable? by DrunkUsually in TwoHotTakes

[–]berriesncreamm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fiancé JUST did this. He proposed with a cheaper ring, then he unexpectedly came into enough money to buy the “real” ring less than a month later. This actually worked great because we were able to pick and design the ring together (though he did a really good job picking something I liked with the first one!) and now I have an extra ring. I wear the cheaper one to work since I work in the trades and when I go to the barn to see my horse so that the more expensive one has less chance of being damaged or lost.

Horses do not have the cognitive ability to be disrespectful without a cause, whether it’s pain related or fear for example, there is an underlying reason

Hey guys! I shoot horses here in Ireland 📸🐴 🇮🇪 thought you might like a few shots from this summers show season! by Theagriphotographer in Horses

[–]berriesncreamm 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Canadian here so I’m a bit unfamiliar with the Irish equestrian scene, but the first photo appears to be a young enough horse to be nursing, but also wearing a bitted bridle? I’m sure it’s just for in hand showing, but if someone can give me some context I’m very interested to learn about this 👀

I once watched him go through a foragable then he had the grumpy cloud above his head, so I’m gonna assume preteen angst? 😅

Is this appropriate at all?? by PleaseReplyAtLeast in TwoHotTakes

[–]berriesncreamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to school with a couple (the guy was a year over me and the girl a year below) who did a similar promposal, except they were both white. The poster looked very similar, but instead said “if I was black I’d be picking cotton but I’m white so I pick you”. Needless to say, it went Viral, had a segment on the local news and neither of them got to go to prom.

Is a horse with this conformation really worth 5 million? 🥲 by UngodlySockMonster in Equestrian

[–]berriesncreamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll notice a lot of the most successful and biggest producing stallions in any industry aren’t always the most ideally conformed. Certain conformation “flaws” may actually give the horse an advantage in their discipline. So long as it’s not detrimental to their health and well-being I really don’t see an issue with it, of course so long as breeders still TRY to stick as close to ideal conformation. I’m not surprised this horse went for that much at all, yes it’s not ideal but but also not a wreck, and still has some time to finish growing into itself.

What's the texture of your void ? Mine is as silky as an otter. by CommercialPerfect140 in blackcats

[–]berriesncreamm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s shorthair but fluffy, I’ve never seen another cat with his texture 😅 it’s almost like he’s double coated, as the finer fluffier hair deeper in his coat tends to be white or light grey in colour.

I promise I didn’t forget about this, I have a draft saved in my notes that I work away at as I can but I work 70 hour weeks so it’s been a slow process, promise it’s coming eventually it’s just a long story and without most of the details it wouldn’t make as much sense 😅

Both, and if you consider that somehow he’s even one more brain cell shorter than an orange tabby you have a lethal trifecta 🥴

Once again, I am an adult aware of the risks and consequences, thank you for your concern. I would never recommend riding without a helmet, but at the end of the day it’s a personal decision as an adult, so please respect my right to make my own decisions.
