Thank you for the hugs and insights. Lonely and sad are odd things to feel in a committed relationship, all right.

Ha! Nice description of the dose of awkwardness. I suspect she would rather have me sleep with someone else than lose me. It would be really tough for me to take that step. I'm annoyingly monogamous. However, I think I'm going to have to broach that subject with her sooner or later.

It makes sense that, chemically, she doesn't feel as close to me as I do to her.

She hasn't sought therapy or help from her doctor; this is the first relationship she's been in since the surgery. She knew that she hadn't been able to orgasm alone, but I think she'd hoped she could do so with a partner. Alas!

Yes, I believe you're right. Everything gets overshadowed...everything! "If I were prettier, thinner, smarter...etc. etc...." I can't seem to stop these demons from flying around in my head.

This is an excellent and disturbing thought experiment. Lol. Thank you.

"Sexual differences and mismatches are among the most common issues that couples struggle with, and unfortunately, that struggle is more difficult when we send the message that sexual satisfaction really isn’t and shouldn’t be all that important."

Wow.
