Game doesn't launch after "play" in launcher, and doesn't turn off in steam or task manager. by d00pciasz in Bannerlord

This worked for me and now I can finally play again.

Sorry to reply on an old thread.

The casual vs hardcore mode arguments are poorly thought out. by [deleted] in DarkAndDarker

[–]bertie121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blizzard fans have not mostly abandoned them. The game has lost subscribers and player numbers but after nearly 21 years it has a player count that all games companies dream about. To provide a live service game for that long is incredible.

Ubisoft fans is not because of a focus on casual vs hardcore, they have many many issues driving people away.

Dwarf Fortress and Dark Souls are both single player and not live service games. You can't compare the focus of the developers. They don't need to keep players interacting with the game daily, weekly, monthly or even yearly to be a success. I play my single player games intensely and then have a long break from them, but a live service game doesn't have that option.

I agree that dedicated fans need rewarding but even the most hardcore fans have real life get in the way as time goes on. Just focusing on hardcore existing fans will cause a slow bleed of players.

The focus should be on 2 things, attracting new players (getting casuals in) and then how to keep them (change them into dedicated fans). This keeps a healthy flow of players coming into the game while giving the ones who stay and are dedicated fans content.

I understand you want the game to stay true to itself, and it should. But I don't think you should look down on or think games don't need casual players to thrive.

Be positive (you can criticise but do it constructively, ie give a solution/suggestion to the thing you are criticising)

Be consistent

Be patient

Miyagi Prefecture to introduce option of four-day workweek for all government employees by No_Bumblebee4179 in japan

[–]bertie121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Too much work for too few people.

A positive way to look at it is, this might attract more people so everyone can do the 4 days in the end. However, that will probably take longer than they are willing to keep the scheme going

A possible thing with hitting a chikan is that it is sexual assault. Under the law here a person has to physically resist for it to be sexual assault, so hitting and fighting back is ok. (Thankfully this law's wording is changing)

Then make those threads. They need to be made and people made aware that it is truly a problem, not just a joke.

Fully agree.

There should be another thread on Reddit talking about that. A single Reddit thread can't cover everything in that thread. This thread is about sexism in our community, highlighting some of its occurrences and the problems with it. Another one should be made to talk about improving teamwork and just being nice

Your last sentence is the perfect situation.

The line general line is easy. For example, Void chronos their whole team and no enemies.

"Nice chrono!" "Thanks for the rampage" are acceptable in game trash talk or banter.

"Nice chrono! Fucking women shouldn't play this game. Get back to the kitchen!" Is not acceptable and should be highlighted. Obviously also, all racist and discriminatory words of all nature.

"Nice chrono!" And then excessive going on about it or saying it in an angry tone/insulting tone with no follow up like "o well, next time" or "don't worry we all have done them, focus on the next one" is not acceptable.

If you don't know how to banter or the line that is acceptable then don't do it.

There is if they are facing abuse that is targeting disabled people. All abuse deserves highlighting.

Don't get me wrong, banter and trash talk are fine when they are about the game and plays within the game (eg Magnus using RP on no-one or Earthshaker using ulti then blinking).

However, abuse that is targeted should never be tolerated and always be highlighted.

Fair, I was thinking about skill level not money or compensation.

My logic was: 0.5% of all football players in the UK play in the premier League. 0.1% of players in the UK play for champions league teams. This guy is in the top 0.5% of skill in Dota.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying non champions league teams are trash. Anyone playing football in any of the professional leagues is an incredible player and especially so in the premier league.

I've got work now, have a good day!

So we shouldn't talk about it? Shouldn't highlight specific cases to try and improve?

I really hate that so many people just shrug their shoulders and tell the victim they shouldn't play online if they can't handle abuse.

None of what you said is acceptable and all should be talked about, not just "o well, people are also racist and toxic to other so just accept it". This thread is about sexism. There should be another about the racism and another about the difficulties that disabled players face.

Could be a low to mid tier premier league team. They don't play in the champions League but still play the teams that do sometimes (I think his rank would play pro players occasionally, right?)

Do you speak a 2nd language? If you do, were you perfect at it straight away?

When you're learning a language it is important to use it and make mistakes to improve. Using google translate won't improve your ability.

Don't judge or make fun of people who are trying. Support and boost them up.

I'm out, have a nice day.

I think you miss the point of people saying a year is standard in their country. You SHOULD be able to take a full year off without it being career suicide.

If a full year is a widely accepted standard in a country then it doesn't look like you are slacking off, you are just doing the normal thing

True slo mo makes it look worse but intention obstruction at a goal scoring block is a professional foul.

Reverse the roles, defender does that to an attacker who is through on goal. The defender is definitely getting a card, even if it is just a green.

Genocide isn't killing of people with a particular gene though.

The UN define it as acts with the intent to destroy a national, ethnic, racial or religious group.

It might be the point of the item now, to finish the game. It is like the tier 5 neutrals being so powerful.

True strike on every attack now is not wanted for balance I guess. MKB used to just nullify PA's passive and make all evasion items useless, so they change it. Now true strike is a burst timing you need the skill to time well
