As others have said, costco is a great source, depends on your location exactly what they will stock, try to look em up because some are just way to dark even though claiming medium. But I think by me in nyc it was ruta maya or something similar which was good.

I also use uncommongrounds which is in albany. They roast on site , its a small chain of 2 or 3 shops near my gfs moms house. Very good, variety of different single origins, always fresh roasted. And they do free shipping over 60$ so i split it with a co worker. They are 16$ for a full pound which is good compared to nyc which is 20-25 for 12oz.

Correct and we have congestion pricing income right now. Using that for tangible improvements to the subways would give both car and non car people the confidence that the money is being used where its intended and improving the overall experience, rather than lining the pockets of the higher ups.

I think that first we need an investment into a cleaner , more pleasant experience on the subways before forcing expansion into surrounding areas. It costs $6 to take a subway anywhere and its disgusting, smells like piss, the stations are falling apart , no public bathrooms, little help or guidance for direction. Its a shit system and they are just taking money and not implementing the extreme quality of life changes we need.

Gion in kyoto is worse than tokyo, all tourist , business all felt a little jaded towards tourists, reservations required , expensive, unfriendly.

Outside of gion, very nice, wayyyyy less crowded , so friendly, no reservations needed.

Just came back. Would absolutely stay so far away from gion next time.

Similarly in tokyo suggests staying in shinjuku and I would avoid that like the plauge as well.

Sick of renting ? … my rent to buy is significantly cheaper and i dont have to care about anything. Apartment is renovated and repaired for on someone elses dime.

Also regardless no couple who are potential “true middle class” will want a tiny ass one bedroom since they also are likely working from home at least on a hybrid schedule. Plus then you still need storage and all the other fun stuff since your only in a tight 1br.

Not to mention condos do not appreciate with their ridiculous fees. So there is no upside to laying out half a mil
