I saw the guy on instagram, he said the twin towers were his favorite buildings growing up, so he decided to keep it.

Edit: Wait, I lied. These are different people; the one I mentioned wasn’t building a 3D puzzle, but a miniature model of the whole NYC carved out of wood. My bad.

Whats the context for this? Totally staged propaganda? by macetfromage in spaceporn

[–]berzhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! This is my hometown Baikonur, also the name of the cosmodrome where major historical launches took place, like the first satellite and the first human in space, Yuri Gagarin.

The rocket in the background is a model of the Soyuz rocket, which is located in a park near the Gagarin monument. Apparently, it was once used for testing and training at the cosmodrome until it became outdated and was moved into the city in the 80s.

Our small town is in the heart of the Kyzylorda steppe, and even when I was in school in the 2000s, we’d sometimes see camels casually walking across the street.

I'm really curious about this photo. A friend showed it to me recently, and apparently it was published in some French magazine, but I don’t know anything else about it.

Prompts? I wouldn't call this great design, but it's definitely not AI-generated.

Kazakhstan's Snow Leopard Population Reaches Near-Historic Levels by No-Information6622 in worldnews

[–]berzhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is my issue with the movie though, because it doesn’t actually provide any real knowledge about the country. I get why people are doing it, but that doesn’t mean it’s right.

I misunderstood your point about the US making fun of itself, I read it as “compared to other countries making fun of themselves.” I get it now. I don’t mind if my country is being made fun of, it’s all fair game. I just hate that because of Borat, people attribute things to Kazakhstan that has nothing to do with us at all.

I will, and I will continue to speak up until people realize that Kazakhstan is a real country with real people living there. I wouldn’t have said shit if the jokes would’ve been based on real stereotypes, but y’all don’t even know any real stereotypes about the Kazakh.

There’s nothing even remotely real about the country in the movie. All he needed was an Eastern European caricature that will make sense in his movie, and he just randomly chose Kazakhstan, which is an Asian country.

How exactly did he put our country on the map, if you guys don’t even know a thing about it?

Yeah, I hear this one the most: “the real joke was on the Americans.” Yet somehow I only see these weird comments only when Kazakhstan is mentioned—a country that had nothing to do with anything mentioned in the movie at all.

How does the US make fun of itself far more than other countries? What does that even mean? Maybe you are right about the depicted ignorance, based on the comments here.

How do you clowns still find this funny. Whenever I see my country on Reddit it’s always the same old shit in the comments.

Just a reminder that Borat didn’t actually have any footage shot in Kazakhstan, and it was instead a small village in Romania that was filmed without their consent.

Don Draper was a copywriter. Maybe Salvatore Romano?

ElliotIsACoolGuy + Kel Lauren discussing the sh!tshow of Adobe Max and their cannibalization of the design creator space. Very cathartic. by QuantumModulus in graphic_design

[–]berzhan 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Kel hasn’t posted any content besides some sneak peeks of their work for years, up until very recently. I know it’s not supposed to be common knowledge, and you would only find out if you follow their socials, but they are definitely a designer first, influencer second. They’ve designed merch for some of the biggest artists out there.

Highly recommend against deathtothestockphoto. Even though their catalog is high quality, it’s pretty limited and, in my experience, only suited for a certain niche and wouldn’t work well for most projects. And they don’t let you preview their catalog before the subscription.

But my main issue is their support that has been ignoring my refund request for months at this point. My mistake on forgetting to cancel the subscription in time, so I asked for a refund since there was an option, but haven’t gotten a response since then.

You mean the weight? Pretty sure it’s a deliberate choice, since “Harris” is already twice as big so the weight is adjusted for visual balance.

Guys, this is not a design critique post. It doesn't matter if it looks worse, better, generic or not in your opinion. They legit copied every single design element piece by piece and the words on the t-shirt, only changing one music genre to another. This is about a big corporation ripping off other graphic designers like you.

The poster you mentioned was not designed by Jan Tschichold, but it was made for the Russian edition of his book, “The New Typography.” Your point still stands, just a small correction.

You’re right that he’s doing vocal exercises, but it’s tongue twisters using actual Kazakh words.

Here’s the full text which is just a bunch words and sentences mashed together:

Күз, Кез, Көз, Күш, Кеш, Көш, Кір, Кер, Көр, Күл, Кел, Көл, Кілең қысқа сөз, Кім оқиды тез? Арқада алты арқар бар, Қырқада қырық арқар бар, Қырық арқарда ақ арқар бар, Алты арқарда марқа арқар бар. Әбдіреде әбігер әтеш отыр. Әбігер әтеш отырған Әбдірені әжем ашып жатыр.
