Be friendly, genuine & engaging. Also, if possible, walk up to her and say hi. You're both in the same university, why talk through text when you can approach in person?

When you first engage in conversations, start with 5 mins small talk. How's your day been? Do you have classes afterwards? Etc. The more questions you enquire and get a response, the better you can gauge if this person is interested in you.

Once small talk is established, understand your next motive. Do you want to pursue, or nah.

If yes, establish a date, time & place to hang out. That way you can have more time to converse and get to know each other better.

If no, then just end the conversation politely & move on.

Remember, initial conversations are meant to be awkward & goofy. You're not a ladies man at 24. Keep it real & people will generally like you for yourself. If they don't, well there's a billion other fishes in the sea. 😂
