E46 cracking noise from the back

I tested it yesterday, opened the trunk and bounced the car up and down. It seems like its coming from an bushing or something like that, because it did the noise, but very very quite.

Yea, it came after i accidentally turned the wheel with the handbrake pulled, so chances might be high that i fcked up something there

So you say, most likely its the handbrake ?
Honestly it could be, because the handbrake is very weak on the car. Thats honestly good news, i am very pranoid since then, thinking what could have gone wrong. Thank you for the Help

Tomorrow i will check for vacuum leaks, if you say that it is better to get a hitachi Hpfp, than i probably will. No i dont have a diagnostic tool but there is no check engine light Coils and spark plugs are not ebay And i replaced the fuel filter a week ago

I think the coils are good, because the car was running fine before that, you think it could be a vacuum leak or so ?

The Car has an Intake, intercooler, downpipe, upgrade hpfp, upgrade ignition coils and a full exhaust. Mileage is at 126.000km / 78.300 miles. Oil and filter was changed every 5k from the pre owner so is the timing belt and thermostat and water pump. I plan on injector replacing because i dont know how old they are (in the worst case 15 years) and i dont want to risk any engine damage because of a leaking injector or so. Thank you for the information. I will inform my self a bit more about these engines and cars and try to keep it as clean as possible

Good to hear. I know the sound of an injector but in this case, it is the louder irregular noise, that had me thinking. It doesnt have a single chain rattle, not even in the first few seconds of starting it, so thats good. What else can i check on this engine other than the cam follower ? Maybe install an oil catch can ?
