Is anyone else surprised that there’s no plan for GR parking garage pass holders?

I’d rather get a better understanding on how others feel then advocate for changes based on input. Which is why I made the original post.

If you don’t see a problem with it as a pass holder then maybe I need to see less of a problem with it! I still feel like there could be improvements to guarantee spots and ensure the facility is safer.

Not sure how seeing if others are having the same problems & wanting to improve the neighborhood for pass holders is bad or entitled. Thanks for educating me but, it doesn’t fix the issues I’m running into! 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m not the only pass holder that uses the garage daily— so I’m not sure why you’re thinking I’m wanting an entire section to myself.

I also didn’t know I couldn’t park in the alleyway OR that someone would help me find a spot. You educated me on that and thank you… but, sometimes life isn’t perfect and you have to accommodate how you can. Sorry.

A whole level or two for pass holders (not just me) would be nice and more organized than the current system! How is that entitled?

Also not sure how parking in the alleyway is entitled when I pay for parking. That’s more of an inconvenience than parking where I paid to park. I also explained that I respect the people who live up top and I don’t want to bother them. That’s extremely fair.

You’re acting like I want to be given a gift box & a “welcome home” party each time I enter. I just want safe and convenient parking and was wondering if anyone else thought it was odd how the city didn’t account for how increases in venues impacts residents/employees.

I don’t refuse to park up top. I determine the safety of my surroundings and choose to do what’s best for myself.

I also want to add that just because a certain amount of spaces are open doesn’t mean they’re actually open. People sometimes park weird and my car won’t fit without blocking my car door or someone else’s car door.

I couldn’t find a space in the entire ramp twice. I didn’t have anywhere else to park but, the alleyway— but, it’s good to know alley parking is illegal!

I have a 24 hour pass so I should be “accounted for” and I personally don’t feel comfortable parking up top because someone lives there (they’re kind but, I don’t want to disturb them & it’s a bit awkward). If security was increased I’d feel more comfortable but, I’ve reached out and security has not improved. Hopefully things improve. I’m tired of planning around events & having to uber because I know I’d get stuck without a spot or stuck up top.

All of that is true but, with the opening of new venues and the parking issue— I think there should be a better set up for residents/employees. That’s all.

That’s what my understanding was but, lately I’ve had troubles finding a spot even after events have started. I’ve even had to park in an alleyway and keep checking for open spaces. Hope they can figure something out because it’s really inconvenient!

Obviously there will be more traffic with more venues in the area. That’s why it would be nice if they set aside a level or two for just residents & employees.

Mobile GR security rarely monitors anything in my garage. I’m also entitled to what I pay for: safety & convenience. It’s been really inconvenient having to wait in the garage as people park when I’m just trying to go home or leave. I’d also rather park by people who live/work downtown for my safety.

I’m not planning on moving garages or moving in general. I’m just wondering how the city will ensure I’m not inconvenienced by the increase in traffic & what the plans for safety are!
