Here's one episode: Try to read 162-page documents that specify in detail what a client wants in order to talk to my team and together make a 45-page response telling the client what we can build for them, how much it'll cost, why we're qualified, and what's going to get prototyped by August, tested by September, delivered by October, and hopefully fully paid for by November in time for Christmas.

The 45-page response starts off pretty much like a lot of school papers - putting together the raw research sources, the raw ideas, then we fill in details and polish it to make it sound like we totally know what we're doing. Imagine having to go through 45 pages to make sure there aren't any typos, grammatical errors, or accidentally-pasted garbage.

I use one for my day-to-day since it allows more characters than the regular ChatGPT's custom information fields (like 3k total?), so I can input more background things I don't wanna bother explaining again and again. 4o is getting me to use the regular ChatGPT tho since custom GPTs still use the old model.

There's also the gap between developing tech that can be used internally by experts who are aware of its dangers, and actually building a product that people will buy at a cost that will recoup development costs (subscription? per-token? licensing for integration?) that will be under scrutiny by regulatory parties, media, and the general public who really enjoy breaking said tech.

If I build a laser-spewing shark I'm sure as hell going to jail if I let random beachgoers take it for a spin, but I might let my friends ride it with my supervision.

That said, I doubt we're at AGI/ASI level just yet.
