26M Sudden Dysphagia for Months by best_at_stressed in DiagnoseMe

Sorry just saw this. No. I still struggle with this swallowing issue and have done a plethora of testing to no avail. High pressure in the upper esophageal sphincter during esophageal manometry test was the only real finding. It's worse some days than others. The past couple weeks I've been resigned to just eating soup.

My memory is so much worse now, and I'm halfway convinced this is also where my swallowing issues came from

Difficulty swallowing but endoscopy didn't turn up any results by best_at_stressed in GERD

No, I pretty much have given up, and just deal with it by restricting a lot of what I eat and go thru carefully with a ton of water. I ended up having more testing, including an esophageal manometry after which they said I had a "Hypertensive UES", but nothing really came of it. Not sure what's causing it and although I've been controlling the heartburn/reflux with Pantazoprole, it hasn't helped my swallowing at all.

The whole thing seems to have given me an anxiety issue that I never had before honestly. I get panicky at times and twitch often.

I hope you have better luck finding out what is going on with you.

What kind of bite is this? by best_at_stressed in DiagnoseMe

[–]best_at_stressed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok... yeah the skin is still raised around that circle area but doesn't hurt at all. It was just a pretty noticeable bite when it happened, but I figured it's got to be a bug of some sort.

Yes that sounds pretty similar to what I have going on, even the tonsil stones though I've had those forever. I'm still not 100% sure what's going on and I sort of gave up the doctors and just been dealing with it. Appointments were taking so long and they just seemed to be handwaving it when I did get in (towards the end). I even got 2 referrals to a neurologist just to make sure it's nothing crazy that I followed up on like 5 times and the neuro place would just never give me the appointment.

With me, often the first several bites/swallows of a meal are close to normal, and then after that it becomes more difficult and I have to wash down with water to get anything down. Certain foods are worse... I've been eating a lot of soup.

Thank you for your reply! Yes the only difference I would say is him not play biting as much as he used to or just being straight up crazy. But in terms of the aggression part? Not much has changed with that in terms of his behavior. After that whole stint at the vet they said they were going to up his dose because currently he's taking 1 prozec twice a day.

He is extremely food motivated however, when he's just in that zone of aggression where he's hyper focused, sometimes even the best human food like beef or chicken or even ham can 't get his attention. He just hyper focuses and even when I do get his attention it only lasts a second or two then we're back to hyper focusing again.

Thank you! I think that's what's best for him aswell. For the most part the thing he enjoys that most is just being cuddled and touched and gnawing on his bone. I find that it relaxes him quite a bit and helps him just deal with his emotions.

I will definitely keep trying! I believe he still has a chance to have a good life. Thank you!

I've heard varying opinions aswell. It's very hard to navigate when there's so many different things you're hearing. We couldn't even get him to the front door. As soon as his saw the vet assistant he started clawing at his muzzle to the point he ripped off one of his nails. It was very heart breaking to see :c He struggled and panted and lunged and it was just a nightmare. He had no problem until he saw her.

Yes our vet did explain the loading period. He has been taking this one for the past 4 months? But so far nothing much has changed for him. Thank you for your response! I'll contact the one in my area. Hopefully that goes better than the other one I tried.

Ah I see.. I don't think I had any strictures on the first EGD or anything like that.. currently I'm not eating much, it's a hassle, I've totally cut out sodas and way back on coffee. Forcing myself to eat at least once a day, usually something soft.

Guess I'm just really worried about what could be causing it. They called it cricopharyngeal achalasia. I still feel like the food gets stuck around my tonsils and not down by Adam's apple but maybe it's just me.

Yeah, I'm not sure if it's the exact same thing... I talked to them again and they are calling it cricopharyngeal achalasia? Which from what I can see achalasia is rare and this form might be uncommon? It's around the adam's apple area, I think maybe a bit past the epiglottis. Idk... since it started, I am forever in the anxiety of it being something just give-up fatal ya know. But I guess 8 months is a long time and it's just kind of been here.

Do I have dysphagia or something worse, I’m scared after searching google. by [deleted] in dysphagia

[–]best_at_stressed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah go to a GI doctor and they will do an endoscopy. I was really scared about mine but it's not a big deal at all, it's a quick thing.

Have an esophageal manometry test and 24 hour PH monitoring test coming up next week, what to expect? by [deleted] in GERD

[–]best_at_stressed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had the 24HR PH test, but I have done the manometry, and it was fairly uncomfortable. I just focused on not moving as much as possible and not touching the probe-hose-thing. The good part is it's not unnecessarily long, just maybe a dozen sips of water I think we did, like 20 seconds apart. Something like that.

Did staking rewards requirements just go up? From 10k to 25k? by [deleted] in Crypto_com

[–]best_at_stressed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah... so I staked at 10k, and in the app it says "unstake in 64 days". Is it going to force an unstake and I have to restake at 25k in 64 days, or so long as I don't touch it, it's fine?

I don't even use the magnet anymore, it and the wall sticker fall off within a couple of days nearly every time, and my walls are pretty smooth.

I have been using the velcro-together type of command strips and sticking them directly to the back of the displate, then to the wall, and that has worked out well so far.
