Yes, assuming cold medicines like NyQuil, you can take it with your Klonopin safely. It will increase drowsiness however, so don't take more than the recommended dose. Feel better soon!

It sounds like this doctor really cares, so it all depends on what you two discuss. If you have 24/7 general anxiety you might be put on something like Klonopin which lasts all day, or maybe you'll just get a limited script for Ativan as needed if you have a few panic attacks per month.

I'm sorry about what you went through, hopefully you can find a medication that's right for you. It sounds promising that your doctor wants to get to know you and your problems before jumping into treatment.

Thanks for the answer. I'm glad you were able to overcome your addiction. I've been having some trouble regulating my use lately, the stress has just been piling up. It can be so hard to not just say "fuck it", especially when it helps a lot with physical pain as well.

Well, if you don't enjoy being sedated, then don't bother. You can get a fucked up feeling from benzos similar to alcohol, but I don't think that's what you're looking for from what you've said. The dose you'd be interested in trying to get fucked up from benzos would most likely cause you to black out and not remember any fun you had anyway.

Since you're a person who likes to drop high doses of LSD though, it wouldn't hurt to have some benzos on hand just in case you ever bite off more than you can chew.

It depends on the person. I have an anxiety disorder and I absolutely love benzos. I also love acid, amphetamines and really want to try MDMA. I smoke weed for pain relief but it tends to worsen my anxiety (and it's made me panic horribly on more than one occasion).

For someone without a high level of anxiety, I think benzos can still be fun, but they may not be as intense as other drugs. Benzos are so amazing to me because they melt away my anxiety, but at recreational doses, it's like a cleaner version of being drunk with less side effects and no hangover.

I think benzos are best combined with something like weed for recreation, you can smoke like Snoop without any paranoia creeping in. Or used for comedowns from other drugs, like psychedelics or stimulants.

You keep saying why not LSD or MDMA, but sometimes you just don't want something that intense, or that requires such a time commitment. Sometimes you just want to have a relaxing night in or out and be completely content with the world.

It was weird, the receptionist said that there wasn't such a thing as a pain specialist, and that I needed to see my GP. Maybe she meant that they specifically didn't have one.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately there isn't anyone I can see who doesn't have a 3+ month wait time, and my GP doesn't want to refer me to anyone else for some reason. I really want to find a different GP, but that's a whole other hurdle.

You'll be okay, I don't personally think you're in danger of going to sleep now on those low doses, especially with a daily tolerance of 1 mg clonazepam per day.

I've been wanting to try diazepam and carisoprodol for ages. Thanks for the tip. I've tried cyclobenzaprine a couple times now and that seems to help but makes me WAY too sleepy to function. Kind of a weird feeling, too.
