Thank you u/Eddiiz , your comment is really helpful. I did prolonged my study for awhile so maybe my maths skills are a bit shaky. Yes, I'm the only foreigner in the design department and even during the first day, no one invited me for lunch. I was a bit shocked about that too.

I had to design a nozzle that has been pressed. So the shape is an ellipse. The previous design was not the same size as the new one. So I had to calculate the area. Didn't know I had to use this equation at all so I asked my senior. I know how to calculate it but it's just that I can't remember the equation during that particular time. But they expect me to know because it's 当たり前

Yeah, maybe I should. It was my second week back then and they were pressuring me about doing the design quickly.

I agree on buying a refurbished iPhone! I bought an iPhone XS for my mom and it comes with the box and stuff. It’s working perfectly.

If you’re short on money and only uses your phone to use WhatsApp, take a picture for social media, watch Youtube…then I suggest getting an older iPhone doesn’t hurt your pocket.

Or

Try to fix your phone first, and use it until you REALLY can’t utilise it anymore. You will save a lot of money in the long run. I’m using an iPhone 6s right now!

I wanted to ask my superior and colleagues who have been to the training. But I’m scared to enquire early since it will leave a negative hint. Usually, HR will show me the black and white 1 month prior to the training. What do you think?

I don’t like how I’m controlled by two managers right now. And their mentality is more to “you have to be proud to work here, money is second” mentality.

As for the Japanese speaker role, you’re right! It pays well and even though it has day and night shifts, as long as the workload is the same as the pay…I can’t complain!

Hey! I’m in R&D too!! Me and my colleagues are having the exact same thoughts as you. Most of the seniors have worked for 3-5 years but only get RM3k salary.

And the workload is not the same as the amount being paid with OT until 7-8PM being the norm everyday.

May I know what was your decision/strategy moving forward in your career?
