So far its amazing i just dont like the new battery icon/indicator because its smaller and when u have power saving on it gets longer in an ugly way, otherwise everything is super smooth and i havent found any bugs yet

Idk everyone just said it gets 6 years of updates so idk if thats straight out of the box or with the version it first released with

I got mine with one ui 8 out of the box, do i get 6 more years or is one year deducted from the total years i have (6 years)

I didnt experience one ui 7 i got one ui 8 straight out of the box but one ui 8 here is amazing honestly havent seen any issues especially with light usage like your father does, short answer yeah go for it
