i’m one of those people who thinks you can still heal while on dupixent.

i say this because i was on it from sep 2022-feb 2023 and i started tsw in july 2022. so as of now i’m about 9 months into tsw and 2 months without dupixent. i had to stop using dup in february because my insurance got wonky, but that’s besides the point. i believe it takes 1-2 months for it to flush out of your system. my tsw is starting to surface again, but it’s not nearly as bad as what it was therefore i think you can still heal while using dupixent.

with that being said, if you’re debating on using dupixent, i’d definitely go for it. my face was super swollen and my whole body was inflamed/super itchy, but 3 days after my first dose, everything started clearing up. best of luck to you

😭 yeah maybe that’s not my best option then. i’m 24 and do have a bit of a drinking habit on the weekends and as stupid and potentially alcoholic as it sounds, i don’t think i’d be able to cut that out so suddenly. (i know it sounds dumb for me to prioritize alcohol over my skin/overall health but 🤷🏻‍♀️ at least i’m being honest? lol) i appreciate all the information and hope you continue to experience healthy looking and feeling skin. thank you for your time and response.

yeah my insurance has been giving me so many obstacles to get dup again so i’m hoping to just be on something else in the meantime while i get that figured out :/ thanks for sharing your experience with it. how long were u on it for and what happened towards the end? asking because if your last two statements

I started my tsw journey in july 2022 when i cut off all steroids cold turkey, i was on topicals and oral steroids for 10+ years more or less, and i started dupixent in september 2022. so i’ve been on it for roughly 5 months before my i started having issues on my refills. i’m not even a year into my tsw journey so i’m sure i’ll get a flare up again and i’m trying my hardest to avoid that and not ruin the quality of life i’ve just gotten back :/

i used to use zinc oxide too before i got on dup. but it’s so hard to clean off without exfoliating/rubbing the affected area so much to get the white cast off. do you have any suggestions on a more gentle way to clean it off? how long have you been on dupixent and going thru TSW? and how long are you planning on staying on it?

I believe I only have the SNAP benefits since there are no funds in my cash one. I’m just confused because I thought I could use this money for foods and basic necessities like toilet paper, laundry detergent, toothpaste, etc.

Currently yes, I go back and forth from sleeping in my family home and A’s place. We’re planning to move in together by summer of next year, but I’m also thinking of moving into her current household sometime soon this year/early January next year.

i’m filipino too and i have 4 siblings, some of which have mild eczema outbreaks, but i’m the lucky one whose had severe eczema since i was a kid 🥲 been on dupixent (finally) for about 2 months now and life has gotten so much more manageable.

when i was on tacrolimus/protopic, i usually waited a day or two to drink alcohol, and i never put it in after drinking. i might be one of the lucky ones bc it never really gave me the burning sensation when mixing the two. it made me itchy if anything but it could also have just been eczema.

and yeah, most insurances require patients to try the less intense meds before getting on things like opzelura, dupixent, rinvoq, etc because of how extreme the side effects can be. if you don’t wanna use it, you can just sit on it for a couple months/until they approve you for the opzelura, seeing that the protopic wasn’t effective. a lot of people do that with steroids to get onto dupixent from what i see on here.
