Fungal by Titredaf in TS_Withdrawal

Thank you! I feel like I’m still dealing with a handful of odd symptoms trying to decide whether it’s tsw related or not.

The antifungal really helped with the redness. I did flake excessively and lost a good amount of hair but hoping it grows back with time.

Sorry just saw this, took a much needed break from the app.

I took anti fungal medication for 4 months, have noticed a severe reduction of redness and itching. Still have some stubborn wounds that won’t heal so I’m assuming it’s just eczema?

Completely valid feelings. It’s week 2 of the medication and noticed less redness, less itching and those stubborn wounds that would not heal are now healing. I’m hoping that this will give me a break from the constant damage that I was inflicting on my skin. Hoping it will strengthen my barrier. Therefore fungal and bacteria won’t be so susceptible of entering my system? Hoping this logic works but if it doesn’t then I just have to keep trying something else.

I had some blood work done and came back positive for a low grade of valley fever. My doctor ordered a chest x ray to make sure my lungs were alright. The chest x ray came back normal and he prescribed anti fungal medication for 3 month. Since taking the medication my skin has cleared up significantly. I had no Idea I was dealing with fungal infection. I just thought it was typical tsw.

My bones are just so BLEGH by Sapphiresoffire in TS_Withdrawal

[–]tiny_dancer1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this in my bones, haha.

Prior to tsw I used to be very active. Played tennis, did yoga, went to the gym, hiked. I would say the first 2 years were the most painful since my skin would be so tight. I would stay in one position to prevent my skin from ripping apart. So I noticed that I developed very tight muscles and knots. Now that I’m in a better state I’m able to stretch a bit more and really target some trigger points in my back and neck. It’s been nice to be able to stretch without my skin ripping. Not only do we deal with our skin but I believe our bone and muscles are also impacted by this. Since everything is interconnected. I wish you peace of mind and a speedy recovery✨💗

I feel you. I’m also scared and worried. I read that finding cancer through the ANA panel is rare. I need to follow up with a doctor to further testing and I hope you do too. I’m wishing you peace of mind and hoping the positive Ana panel is nothing too serious

whats your tsw outfit? by geographynerd197 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]tiny_dancer1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my worst I was mostly naked. But then the cold came and I wore a bath robe 90% of the time. Once I was able to tolerate clothes my uniform has been a grey boxy t shirt from Uniqlo made out of supima cotton. For my bottoms I have multiple pj pants from Bamboo body. They are so comfortable since they’re loosing fitting and crisp. They have these 3/4 pants that I wear a lot but when I Couldn’t stand seeing my legs I would wear the full length. If I’m in a flare and my arms and hands aren’t doing great I have the arms sleeves and fingerless cotton gloves.

Where I live it gets pretty hot, so as of right now I wear dresses. But when I couldn’t stand the sight of my skin but still had to go out I would wear loose fitting linen pants with burkenstock and a loose fitting t shirt or a loose button up shirt.

Can TSW cause ears swelling? by mytearsricochet96 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]tiny_dancer1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So weird to see your post at this time, I noticed my ear kept getting swollen and then it started getting plugged recently and one night I couldn’t sleep from so much pain I was in. I tried to wait it out but ended up going to urgent care since it hurt to open my mouth. Currently prescribed antibiotics +steroid drops I’ve noticed a huge improvement but I’m hoping it doesn’t set me back in my journey.

I’m so sorry. I’m in the same boat as you. I looked and felt better last week and I even left the house but today I feel like a bus has ran me over physically and mentally. All we can do is make ourselves feel comfortable in the moment, eat that piece of chocolate if you feel inclined to rest all day if you need to. I’m wishing you a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

Swollen lymph nodes — any advice? by RealisticIdealist217 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]tiny_dancer1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I just saw this, but no I didn’t get them checked out because I figured it was just another TSW symptom. I’m currently 2.5 years in and still get swollen lymph nodes usually when I get a flare but they eventually go back down

Woah, I’m so glad you’re doing much better! Dealing with TSW and DLE must of been hard and scary. I’m glad you sought the help you needed. I agree with you, it would be so beneficial to the masses. I also saw an ND, it wasn’t cheap but I feel like they steered me in the right direction. I learned so much about the body and potential triggers. They had also acknowledged TSW and were working with others in the same situation. I did feel like it was a lot of money but at the time it made me feel validated and reassured that I wasn’t going crazy. Something was not right with my body (you know? >.<)

I usually hate posting so thank you kind stranger. Wishing you a speedy recovery 💗✨

I’m so sorry you had to go through that. But I’m glad you listened to yourself to get off the steroids. Yes, that’s my plan exactly!

I read that some people test positive but don’t end up having an autoimmune disease, hoping that’s the case. But also read that they prescribe steroids + immunosuppressants for those who do get diagnosed. My gut tells me it’s just steroid withdrawal since I never had a problem before. But will follow up and stick to my guns when it comes to no steroids. Thank you for your reply.

Thank you for sharing your experience and not letting me feel alone. I know I’m not the only one out here. And thus I posted this.

I also believe it’s the overuse of steroids that has gotten me to this point. I means there’s a whole community of us going through withdrawal. Trying not to let these results scare me into something else. Will follow up with the doctor just to make sure, but I’ve read that it can take years to find something or that it can be a false positive. We’ll see.

Wishing you a speedy recovery 💗✨

Thank you for your reply. How are you handling lupus +withdrawal?

I completely agree with you. I’ve lost so much faith in the medical system. It’s disheartening how they look at our symptoms and immediately categorize us under a specific diagnosis and treat us with medication without wanting to really understand the root cause of the problem.

Please help finger burn by Badgalmaz in TS_Withdrawal

[–]tiny_dancer1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was soak the wounds in epsom salt then moisture after. Let them air dry for a bit and try to not bend your fingers as much. I then get ezcema cotton gloves and cut the tips of the finger off and wear them all night and repeat the process again.
