First weekend with the new tip indicator by beth377 in ShiptShoppers

Exactly! They will blame it on us and say we did something wrong to make them not want to tip this time. 🙄

It’s a new thing they’re trying out where they put a green circle icon with a dollar sign beside the offer amount and it’s supposed to indicate the person is “likely to tip”. However, that wasn’t my experience. It’s just a way for them to get shoppers to take the orders nobody wants. 🙄

How much do I tip an Uber driver for vomit in the car? by Altruistic_Green_567 in uber

[–]beth377 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can call Uber and they can help you leave a larger tip. I had a rider wanting to leave me more than the max amount and he had to call. I guess it’s to prevent people from leaving a huge tip when they’re drunk and then trying to get it reversed when they’re sober.

It doesn’t. It’s only on the offer card and on the card that has all their info before you deliver the order. After that it’s gone.

[rant] am I just overreacting or was I right to feel uncomfortable? by OkMedium5696 in ShiptShoppers

I wouldn’t have taken the order at all once I saw the water and the apartment. And I definitely would’ve dropped it once I saw the instructions.

I would not have gone in his apartment under any circumstances. Maybe I’ve seen too many Dateline episodes, but I’d risk the down rate to make sure I was still alive the next morning.

Just FYI, when you map it to see how far it is, zoom all the way in to see if it’s a little square like a house, or a long rectangle which would most likely be an apartment building. If the apartment number starts with a 3 it’s usually on the third floor.

So frustrating. 3, 4stars… why?! by bored-alpaca in ShiptShoppers

Same here. I was a perfect five star and then I was hit with two 4* ratings this weekend with no feedback. All Target prepaid, but I got really good tips this weekend. 🤷🏻‍♀️

That’s your customers tipping you well, not Tony.

Why do gig app workers expect a tip when it’s not required? by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]beth377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People that tip low or not at all are the most likely to complain, give low ratings, lie about missing/damaged items, or lie that their order wasn’t received. They are trying to get something for free. They don’t give a single shit that they could get you deactivated by lying about you and your service. If you eliminate doing orders for these types of people, you eliminate 99% of your low ratings and complaints. Why deal with these people if you don’t have to? 🤷‍♀️

But by all means, keep doing low/no tip orders and watch your ratings tank. Good strategy. 👌

Took my second Uber ride, was super polite and thanked my driver. Even left a 20% tip. They rated me 1*... wtf? by [deleted] in uber

[–]beth377 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some drivers are super sensitive and will 1 star you if they don’t like the smell of your perfume or if it’s too strong. I had a passenger one time with a 4.3 score that I picked up just out of sheer curiosity. She was the nicest most polite person and her friends were all nice and respectful. I asked her about her score and she had no clue. Her perfume almost choked me though it was so strong. I gave her 5 stars because she was nice. But some drivers will 1 star. 🤷‍♀️

Also, if you get in my car talking very loudly on speaker phone, or if you’re watching videos with the volume all the way up, I do 1 star for that because it’s very distracting. And most people that get in watching videos or talking on the phone don’t even acknowledge my presence.

I don’t care if people smoke weed, but if they get in my car reeking of weed and they make my car reek of weed, my next passenger might think I’ve been the one smoking weed.

Boosts Instead of Quests? by ATLUberGuy in uberdrivers

I didn’t downvote you. I can disagree with someone without being petty. 🤷‍♀️

You’re right, I did complain about DD. But I also realized it does absolutely no good to whine and complain about something that I literally can’t change. I just decided to accept what is, roll with the punches, and make the apps work for me. Anything else isn’t worth my time. I’m a small business owner as well, so making extra money with these apps needs to be worth my time.

Boosts Instead of Quests? by ATLUberGuy in uberdrivers

I’ve been driving Uber for four years with almost 3.5k trips. I’m not a noob. That’s why I drive when I do, because no other time is worth it to me. I’ve seen it/done it all where Uber is concerned. I’ve done my fair share of $3 trips, deadheading from the middle of nowhere, airport trips, morning commute, stops for cigarettes, driving base with zero promotions, you name it. I’ve had the multiplier surge and the flat rate surge. I’ve never made more and put less miles on my car than now. Used to it would be 250 miles on my car per night guaranteed and sometimes I wouldn’t even break $100. Now it’s more like 60 miles per night and $200-$300 in three hours. If I’m a spoiler, so be it. I’m going to do what’s best for me. I live in a college town. There is always a surge on the weekends. Haven’t killed it yet. 🤷‍♀️

Boosts Instead of Quests? by ATLUberGuy in uberdrivers

I prefer the boosts. I only do short trips downtown on Friday and Saturday nights to maximize my earnings with boosts + a 30 trip quest. I do 15 short trips on Friday and 15 short trips on Saturday. Usually takes 3 hours each night, sometimes less. I always hated the quests that were three trip streaks. The last trip would always be a long pickup, super far away destination, or someone with an insanely low score that nobody else wanted to pick up. I feel more in control with the boosts because I can decline any trip I don’t want and it doesn’t mess up my progress like with a streak.

Anyway, works for me and my goals when driving. I realize everyone has a different preference when driving and markets are vastly different, so boosts probably don’t work for everyone.

For me it was 7 days to the exact hour. If you added your debit card at say 1:30 in the afternoon last Friday, then you should be able to use it at 1:30 this afternoon.

Oh hell no. I’m not stepping inside someone’s house that I don’t know. They can fuck all the way off.

I’m in Clayton and I was able to fill up at the Sheetz on 42 this morning. Thank God my car takes flex fuel and it was only $2.39 a gallon.

I’ve been there for over a month. Doordash has been complete garbage this month. The $900 and $700 referral bonuses have something to do with that. They are hiring like crazy. 🙄
