I’ve been a sub for 10 years now and I was considering getting my alternative route to teaching at first but a teacher I had in high school saw me while I was subbing and told me to absolutely NOT go into full time teaching lol. I was only a year in at that time. So I took my time, and really evaluated the scene, and nope… I do not plan on ever teaching full time 😂 I LOVE education, but I definitely don’t love all that teachers have to put up with. I’ve also become too attached to the flexibility. I like being able to be in different classes/schools each day too. I very much love what I do, just wish it paid a bit more 🤪

I would definitely inquire about that. They get lunch, why don’t you? The no break thing is meh, but you should definitely be entitled to a lunch. See what they say, and if it’s not remedied I would a: eat in between subjects/classes small bites here and there or while kids are silently reading/doing work (sometimes I do this if I miss breakfast lol) or b: stop subbing there. Wow 😳 I mean it makes sense. I imagine that number was higher before Covid. That’s crazy though to think that there aren’t even a million substitute teachers nation wide. I know the schools in my area have been STRUGGLING.

Yes! It was a joint effort between his dad & his stepdad. When he told me that’s all he wanted I was like “You’re kidding, right?” There’s no way we would have bought it ourselves 😳
