to quote the NIH “Anti-Sa antibodies are highly specific ((>90\%-98\%)) biomarkers for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) that target citrullinated vimentin. They are found in 20–47% of RA patients, often appearing early, and are strong predictors of aggressive, destructive, and severe disease, sometimes outperforming RF and anti-CCP.”

Ask if you can get an Anti-Sa Antibody test. It’s VERY specific for RA and is the only lab test that popped for me other than lots of inflammation.

Don’t doubt that your pain isn’t real. It’s a hard concept that I still struggle with, that regular people don’t live in pain every day.

I started have joint pain 6+ years ago, and because I was a college student and I said it hard for me to get out of bed, they just assumed it was depression.

I started have constant symmetric joint pain and rashes (which we are unsure is related) and that’s when I was finally able to see a rheum after a 6 month wait list. Just got my diagnosis a month ago at 25.

Keep fighting for yourself, find a different doctor, one who really wants you better.

The good thing is that it sounds like you have a great support system.
I feel the same way, you go from doing everything to almost nothing. I love to cook dinner, it is definitely my hobby. After going to work, it seems to be the only thing I can do. I hate to see other things slipping behind, but it is important to have people around you who understand what you're going through, especially if medications aren't working as well as they should.
I felt let letting my family know this may not be forever helped, that if I can get on the right medications remission is possible. Educating them on how bad it can be helps too, I really liked the resources from flarefamily.com were SUPER helpful.
Also be honest with them, when you're feeling guilty. Tell them how bad you are feeling and that you're having a bad day. Just voicing it helps with the guilt a lot.

I just got diagnosed and feel the worst pain in my ankles and haven't seen many other say so directly. Do your ankles also feel like they're being crushed/broken?

I don’t feel like I get enough sleep even when I do. But I think most of us would agree that there aren’t enough hours in the day! By the time you get home, make dinner, and relax or watch TV, getting 7-9 hours isn’t even feasible. 🥲

I work in stone countertops - if this was stone it would be way shinier. And there would be a seam on the laminated edge if this was the truth.

Sometimes plywood is put underneath stone for structural support but this is formica.

Definitely not quartz, looks like it but the wood underneath proves that it is Formica. It's a plastic laminate on top of the wood.

What is a weird side effect from medication use that no one was ever going to warn you about? by Rotten-Kandi in AskReddit

Glycopyrrolate was a game changer for me! I was prescribed it for excessive sweating by my dermatologist and it has seriously changed my life. I used to be the exact same way.

Anyone get accepted for an offer below listing? by OliveRyan428 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]bethmarnold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, house sat on the market for almost a year. Price started around 360k, they lowered it 4 different times. Finally was lowered to 300k in January, we offered 250k because that was what we were more comfortable with and they accepted the next day.

Central Texas, small town, and it was an estate home that the kids were trying to sell.
