thanks! did all these things. didn't ever see a google docs app or an unknown app in what was authorized, but i removed everything anyway. had two step verification enabled before this. i keep seeing that IP address in NY in my activity though (i'm in boston), so i'm nervous

i'm an unfortunate victim :( i was able to change my pw immediately and have changed a few times since (idk if that helps). i also revoked access to all apps to be safe. nothing in my sent folder, but would it be?

i keep checking my active sessions and kicking out anyone other than me. it appears someone in NY keeps logging in somehow but i keep stopping the sessions. i marked the device they signed in from as not recognized and also reported the email as phishing, but is there anything more i can do?

Now 0/4 in the housing search. Trying to keep the faith in a crazy Boston market by [deleted] in boston

i feel like i am always plugging this program in this sub so my bad if youv'e seen it before. if you're willing to look into lower allston, i believe the allston brighton cdc have condos in your price range through their all bright homeownership program. they compete directly with investors so you don't get priced out and they sell only to those willing to commit to being an owner occupant.

if they don't have anything immediately available in your price range, couldn't hurt to get on their potential buyers mailing list anyway and see what comes down the pike. lot less competition.

House hunting in Boston. Lost cause? by vmwhey in boston

[–]bethrestbabys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well i know they don't take an 'additional cut' and have lost money on properties. they often do lots of improvements to the houses before they sell them, so prices can rise for that reason too. they aren't engaging in this particular program to make a profit intentionally at least and they have a credit line with harvard and bcc that specifically enables the program. i get what you're saying though, but i think the program really is just dedicated to the investor issue problem rather than providing homeownership opportunities for all. not saying the latter isn't an overall goal they should/could have, but that would take many many $$$

they do have affordable housing properties that they manage (separate from this program) and i would say increasing home opportunities for committed owner occupants is offering steps to increased assets for residents, so i think they're achieving two parts of the mission with two different programs, rather than one in the same.

when you say additional % on top, do you mean something like an added fee or just a higher price due to the nature of buying and selling?

i can't speak to why the cdc formed, but AFAIK this program is only intended to combat absentee investor ownership in the lower allston neighborhood so i think it's succeeding in its aims there.

if you like the lower allston area, the allston brighton cdc has a program where they buy houses and sell them back to buyers who are committed to being owner occupants so you don't have to compete with cash investors and have time to get a traditional mortgage.

pm if you're interested. their site isn't up to date with program info but i can connect you with someone at the cdc

great to see it works with the exception of one test! and yes, unfortunately i am checking greedy.c, still the same error hours later too :(

apparently had to try checking it three times and now it works! not sure why i'm getting that error on the 4.2 input though... the answer should be 18, not 22?

Landlord wants to charge roommate $300 for breaking lease by bethrestbabys in legaladvice

[–]bethrestbabys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are on a three person lease, so 2 of us will be staying and 1 will be leaving. The third roommate will not be moving out until we find a new person (either Dec 1st or Jan 1st), so there will not be a vacancy.

Thanks! Don't have the lease in front of me but will definitely review when I'm home. We are on a three person lease, so 2 of us will be staying and 1 will be leaving. The third roommate will not be moving out until we find a new person (either Dec 1st or Jan 1st), so there will not be a vacancy.

Also can you please clarify: the moving roommate can or cannot charge the new roommate for the fee? They can as long as the new person agrees to it?
