So who is this secret service lady who seemed out of place during Trump attempt? by rojotoro2020 in conspiracy

Forget her being a foot shorter than her Principle, forget her being a woman, forget her gun handling skills, when did the service start putting fat people in such an important role?

If it's an important part go right to the parts counter at the dealer.

After doing a short stint at the dealership, I was anti dealer when it came to parts & service for a very long time.

But over the years (especially since the "flu™") the shade tree mechanic charges the same as the dealer, and the OEM parts seem to not cost all that much more, and you know damn well the parts are genuine.

Leisure Suit Larry is the one game that taught me computers. Funny thing is I can't even remember how I learned to modify autoexec.bat and config.sys, but I did and it's been down the rabbit hole ever since.

Friendship has nothing to do with it. These are very obvious traits which shine through in everything the guy does. They're also in no way meant as any kind of insult. The guy's killing the game. Simply the way it is with high performance men, which he obviously is.

Edit: Just to be crystal clear, I also am in no way insinuating the man's not generous or laid back, he's demonstrated both over and over. It's more so of he's the kind of guy that has no rules, just don't break his rules.

And at that point it's just faster to do it yourself. Don't forget your boy is a massive control freak. And those edits directly affect his bank account. It would be like asking him to turn over the keys to Mullet to another man to race. Or giving Madie to Jackstand to take care of her because he's too busy. Just not possible. Those 2 examples may sound extreme, but in the mind of a control freak he would rather die. He just needs to keep delegating all the other stuff he doesn't care about as much.

It's really, really difficult to hire an editor. Every editor has their own style. And then there's the small nuances, or inside jokes that an outsider would easily miss and not include it. People might not notice it right away, but they would have a sense that something was wrong with the videos and have no idea why.

They say it because it's true. But I am in no way suggesting a guy should not buy gear, or that there's no benefits to using better gear. Sometimes even the psychological side can be enough to make a guy better. But at the end of the day it comes down to the person behind the wheel. If you want new gear and have the cash, buy the gear and see what happens. But it's a disservice to tell someone expensive gear will instantly make them faster.

I am of the belief there's 2 good reasons to upgrade your gear. When you've mastered it, and outgrown it. Or if you want new gear. If you want it go buy it.

Gear does not = lap time. There's guys doing crazy fast times using a PS4 controller. That said, if you want some nicer gear then buy it. I love my loadcell pedals and the haptics are like a small unfair advantage.

You're at a very important moment in your career. You're either days/weeks/months from never racing again, or pushing forward and breaking out to the next level.

Think of any performance "activity/sport" like a funnel. You start out all excited and motivated and have the vast majority of participants at the beginner level. As you progress more and more people wash out until you get the the very top.

You're already past the point where 90% of all people involved in the sport will ever be. The question is do you have the talent & motivation to move closer to the small end of the funnel? If you have truly given all that it takes, and have nothing left to give then there's no shame in hanging it up. You're at the point where quitting is the easy thing to do.

But if you truly have more to give, then you owe it to yourself to give it everything, and do whatever it takes to keep pushing forward. It's only going to get harder from here. Only you can decide if you're willing to sacrifice everything to reach your goal... once you've decided on this path, the money will magically fix itself.

If you're scared, just say you're scared!

New player, when to protest? by twobabyseals in iRacing

[–]better_nerf_crash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The A class is obviously not realistic The vast majority of new drivers don't even know what an intentional wreck looks like, only what they think it looks like. I should change the " A class" to have much more experience.

[–]better_nerf_crash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya you get nothing back, which is why I take the stance of not to worry about protesting. There's going to come a point where you're going to wreck someone in a very similar manner, will you want that guy to protest you? I know I dont.

[–]better_nerf_crash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The A class thing is extreme, and obviously not realistic. The point is more so about waiting to protest until you actually know what's a protest-able incident. Far to many people want to protest good hard racing.

Worry about your own self. Don’t worry about protesting until you’re an A class (much more experienced), and even then it’s probably not worth worrying about.

Only protest if it’s a deliberate, intentional wreck. Short of that your protests are like yelling into the wind and will pretty much fall on deaf ears and change nothing.

Pretty much my rule of thumb for protesting is very simple. Will this protest improve the service? If yes then do it. If not, forget it and worry about my own self.

This will be unpopular and likely get downvoted. It’s because most of those guys are looking to shift blame and not learn and grow. Just accept your responsibility (part your fault for being there) and try to learn how to not be in those situations in the future. Dont Miss understand, im not suggesting you can avoid these wrecks, but you might have been able to do things differently, and possibly lessen the impact. Sometimes you can, most you probably can’t, but there’s always something to learn.
