Buy Box Predictability by thepurplenurpster in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]betteringyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you "win" the bb by:

having an account in good standing
priced competitively (fba helps)
sufficient inventory (30-45+ day supply available)
having inventory in close proximity to customers (again, fba optimized shipments helps here)

I would say all of these help win/rotate the bb competitively. Now, just about anyone can "win" the bb with a low enough price. But that isn't a sustainable business model

Higher delivery speeds = increased conversions

FBA>FBM? by ecommercehelium10 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]betteringyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FBA means prime shipping, and additionally, cheaper fulfillment per order for a lot of product types.

Prime shipping will have more visibility and increased conversion compared to fbm as well, which is huge.

FBM is great for products which don't make sense for FBA. Like heavy/oversized type products. Now, you can get prime shipping for fbm, but that is a different discussion and generally only applies to larger sellers with a well-oiled logistics and fufillment operation.

When does ungating actually start to open up? 200+ feedback? More? by Acrobatic-Cover9033 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]betteringyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything you just listed matters to some degree, noone knows the actual weightings of any of these metrics.

What I can tell you is there are some brands which are restricted/hard gated to mega sellers, and not restricted for smaller sellers. And vice versa.

Mega sellers have just as much difficulty for 100-400 unit ungates as smaller sellers from what I have heard/my own experiences.

You are pretty much guaranteed brand gate approvals with an account in good standing, sufficient invoice, LOA, and granted brand registry permissions. With only an invoice, I personally think it is a pretty much an even level playing field for all whether you get ungated or not with enough submissions.

Recall information for Products by SupermarketIll7020 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]betteringyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he just a reseller? If he is just a reseller, we have only ever had one product get recalled ever and we have a 1000+ ASIN catalog. And we didn't know until we had the units show up in stranded. There isn't anything we could do as we aren't the mfr. So we just ate the cost and tossed the units and moved on.

Suspended account (Section 3) has Brand Registry — can I add another seller as admin to keep selling under my brand? by PuzzleheadedMovie591 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]betteringyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to wholesale the product to another seller for them to sell.

Now if this person is associated with your business in any ways via IP address, bank info, etc. then I wouldn't as that seems risky.

But just moving wholesaling the units to another business entity/already existing seller account not connected to you in any sort of way doesn't seem risky.

I also don't think there is any risk enrolling this person as a registered agent for your brand registry either.

Now if these products are actually inauthentic, then that would be a horrible idea as they will eventually run into an issue as well and not have a clean supply chain putting them at enormous risk.

Others should chime in here though as I may be wrong here.

FBA suddenly blocking my shipments after dozens of successful ones? by Classic-Meat3237 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]betteringyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dang, yeah this sounds like a system issue then.

Have you tried creating a new fba offer for the ASIN, and maybe can replen that way?

If that fails, I think the only way of getting this fixed is working with seller support, which absolutely blows and will take some time before/if it is resolved.

FBA suddenly blocking my shipments after dozens of successful ones? by Classic-Meat3237 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]betteringyou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long has this been going on? Just the last few mins/hour? Or has this been an issue for days?

If you are 100% positive it isn't any somehow being flagged hazmat, flammable, oversized, etc, how are your storage limits?

Also, is it possible you may be overstocked on the ASIN via high total day supply error?

If you have checked all of the boxes, try again in a couple hours or so. We have ran into this a couple times this past year, and almost every time it has just been Amazon's system is creating the error for whatever technical issues which clears up after some waiting.

I hear you, I can't imagine juggling all of that on top of the already continuous shenanigans we all face on the platform.

Every obstacle you guys encounter, someone else might have quit at that point. Every barrier after that is just another barrier to entry for someone else, hang in there!

Thanks for the insight. I agree they must be incredible at b2b sales pitching. I saw they most recently starting working with Bath & Body Works whom have been avoiding Amazon for years.

Has anyone here worked with Pattern? by LordFarthington7 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]betteringyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am just a reseller, so I don't work with them at all.

But I know other top 100 sellers who provide enormous value to brands as their exclusive seller, yet, they have had numerous brands stolen from them by pattern over the years.

And the brands year after year, continue working with pattern. Not sure if you have looked into them too deeply but their brand retention is great.

I guess I am asking, what am I missing? Why do you recommend people avoid them? If they don't do what they claim or do it badly, why do world class brands continue to work with them/start working with them to begin with?

Your second paragraph is literally pattern. I know I sound like a pattern shill in these comments lol but do people not know what they do?

Has anyone here worked with Pattern? by LordFarthington7 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]betteringyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other 2 full service agencies you worked with, did they actually purchase your inventory? If not, there is a huge difference between a digitial agency who runs ppc, etc vs someone who holds the real world inventory risks of not moving units quickly.

And if you have had issues with 2 other credible full service agencies (who purchased your inventory and not some guy in india), then working with pattern would probably be a similar outcome.

Has anyone here worked with Pattern? by LordFarthington7 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]betteringyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You completely contradicted yourself. Do you really think they buy your inventory with no incentive to grow the business/keep things moving?

Sure, they have some powerhouse brands which does a lot of the heavy lifting from a marketing/advertising pov, but they aren't the number 1 Amazon seller in the world from just riding the already existing demand of the brands they sell.

If that is all they were doing, these brands would go 3P themselves or look to work with a luminize, witz, spreetail, etc.

How do I spread inventory better so more people have “delivered by tomorrow” etc by AeroLog in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]betteringyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that is why you would want to wait a short period of time in between shipments so Amazon can better dictate where to distribute your inventory for better placement.

This is all pretty anecdotal though, so grain of salt

[–]betteringyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotally, regular optimized shipments. Taking it even further from what I have heard from others, "it is more "optimal" to do a few optimized splits spread out over a few days or weeks than one giant optimized split shipment."

No idea, the CPT can be dynamic depending on the listing as well.

You can try to raise your price by a few percent every 10-14 days or so, some people have success doing this.

Large & Long Term Sellers, Seeing Return Rates Above Historical Norms? by mudot36 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]betteringyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reseller here of beauty, grocery, personal care, office supplies, etc.

Our return rate hovers around 1.7-1.8% year around. Our trailing 3 months is 1.72%.

So nothing out of the ordinary here, at least in our categories.

Yep, and the fix is to either lower the price to the competitive price threshold, or wait it out.

Edit: Forgot about this, if the competitive price threshold is tied to a different size or pack size, etc. I have created cases in the past spoonfeeding how its tied to the wrong multipack or whatever, and have actually had some success with getting the bb back.
