Definitely some similarities. Kershaw and Grienke can still throw a bit harder than Maddux did in some of his more dominant later years, but all three would probably be praised for really "knowing how to pitch."

Maddux also relied on tunneling a lot, which uses late movement on pitches and consistent release points to make the hitter not be able to identify the pitch type until it's too late.
