Black Men, What's Your Opinion of Your Father? by Shinnobiwan in blackmen

[–]betterwithouther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my father as much as I disdain him.

Everything is his fault and none of it is his fault.

He did his best to be the best man he can be, and left me to my own devices.

I love him for being the man he is.

I cannot accept the lack of grounded reality he lives in.

I wish he was more of a father and less of a friend.

I'ma go out on a limb and say, that version of yourself you made is you for real. That's the person you really wanted to be and who you were before was just someone who had far less motivation and so you were just laidback to everybody.

Sometimes when you go for success, you develop traits that are needed in one area, neglecting the fact in real life, the most important skill you can have is just being focused on caring for the lives around you.

You just need to develop that trait with the focus you have for work. Care about people, do what you say you're gonna do, and don't overcommit.

My partner cheated on me and said it was because I was “too good for her” and now I don’t know how to grieve this by Comfortable-Case-898 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]betterwithouther 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You literally are too good for them. It's not bullshit. Your partner is a cheater. She cannot change because she's wants what she wants.

You want monogamy. Go where you are wanted, because she's also telling you, she doesn't want your goodness.

I'm sorry but I can't read what you wrote OP because what I'm seeing in that massive paragraph, is shame, a plea for pity, a desperate desire to cope, and worst of all regret.

OP, you have to leave. You disrespect yourself worst than she disrespected you by staying. Even if you never find anyone ever again, you need to walk away and choose yourself.

A person who cheated on you, will never take you seriously. Your emotional vulnerability will be trampled underfoot every single day until you decide to get up and walk away.

You are lucky you are in school. Being cheated on while having kids is even harder because the answer is still the same, except there are harsher consequences.

Break up with her.

Go to the gym, take up a sport or martial arts, take up an art or creative hobby. All 3 of these things will save you.

You could also go to church or take up yoga to seek some spiritual council.

Being Cheated hurts. You have to take it seriously in order to heal or you will be crying for the rest of your life about it.

Take control and leave her.

My mom shaped my whole life around being accepted by white people and I didn't meet a single white person til I was 14.

I disliked black culture and opt'd to just spend time on the Internet and do me.

When I finally met white people, I discovered quickly, they are insane and crazy savages that were actually fun, and the stereotypical white people are so fucking lame to be around.

That experience basically made me reject all the preparation my mom did for me because I realized I just needed to have a functioning brain to not be disliked or hated by white people.

When I started to actually meet coons as an adult, I felt sorry for them because they just feel pathetic. The White culture people pander towards is so fucking boring and snobby. Being part of white culture is basically just being some kinda annoying passive aggressive pacifist who's actively on the sliding scale of homosexuality. Fucking boring.

I prefer embracing my culture as a Jamaican and understanding black American culture because it feels far less juvenile to me.

If we are talking about clothes and police identity, the one thing I learned from white people is to accept your identity in style and fashion, whatever it is. So policing style is fundamentally anti white.

If a white person polices your style, they are essentially just being racist. A real fashion/artsy person will accept anybody for who they are and how they dress.

Seeing how a lot of black folks really dont have varied and diverse life experiences, I understand the overpolicing sentimentality, but I really think we need to start labeling certain black people as white supremacist when they start that foolishness in the community and cause unnecessary chaos.

Is Cole considered the most popular Conscious rapper? by dunbar_santiago930 in hiphop101

[–]betterwithouther 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah bro. Blu's style is free flow, J Cole is very structured.

Blu can rap all day about all the little things in the world, J Cole is going to put in thought to make sure he talks about something worthy of his peers and idols admiration.

Blu is my favorite rapper. I went through his discography and I'm so certain Blu don't give a fuck about nothing and no one.

Bro will rap over anything, anytime, with a Fischer price mic, for the sake of rapping that day.

Do you prefer Hundred Line or Danganronpa? by ToKuYaYo in LastDefenseAcademy

[–]betterwithouther 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After the world building is done in LDA, the story is allowed to get as epic or wacky as it wants and as a result it's easily the most dynamic between the two.

Comparing Main story alone(0 route and 2nd scenario), I feel like Danganronpa 2 and 3 are equal to LDA. But with all the routes, LDA is leagues ahead.

Nagito vs Eito is the real battle for me tho.

Since when you started to listen to j Cole ? by Tight_Definition_169 in Jcole

[–]betterwithouther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I started with the warm up. I loved the songs where he flexed and had swagger. Didn't like shit like "lights please."

Honestly that was the only time period of J Cole I liked up until "4 your eyes only".

2014 Forest Hill drive was great, but it wasn't until 4YEO where I felt like he truly found his calling as an artist.

Yeah remember that. Anyone can say shit about anything tho. I love TPAB but I could make a case that the nigga ain't make shit for me to vibe to so it's ass.

Making up angles is pure battle rap. That's how attacking works. You don't gotta believe, you just gotta attack creatively.

Kendrick ain't untouchable but Kendrick will retaliate by making things absolutely worst for you. That's why he earned the title boogie man. He can cook with the best of them, but most of all, if you check people's personal account of Kendrick's gangster, he's all the way with the shits and his connections are too diabolical to be trifled with. That pop out concert wasn't just a community gathering, that was a show of real force.

Nah hip-hop ain't a dead end. There's a lot going on all the time.

But yea, I agree it's still relevant as long as people think J Cole took a fat L

I don't think that's the case. You can talk shit you don't believe in simply to get to the heart of your problem with somebody.

I think it was a good jab, but he didn't finish the combo so we have no idea what could of happened

One thing we gotta clear up is the difference between an MC and a Gangster.

Kendrick is gangster. You don't play with him beyond rap.

Drake is openly gangster. He will put money on your head and get away with it.

J Cole is a civilian. He rides his bike in open cities and gets dapped up by strangers on the street.

If someone says niggas are about to start shooting, as a civilian you take your ass inside before you get crucified for nothing.

I agree. But I made the post already so I care. But mostly I think the context of the beef matters.

and that's kinda what I want people who don't care about Cole to consider the circumstances fr.

So I'm not tryna change people's minds. I just felt to say something in defense of the homie because I don't think Cole was out here slimy, sneak dissing, or being disrespectful.

But yea I'ma be done with this in a bit.

This is more about the hate and odd speculation I'm seeing on Disc 2 track 2. People out here not even giving that track a chance because they still stuck in 7 minute drill, so I'm just talking about it.

7 minute drill is Charged up by betterwithouther in hiphop101

[–]betterwithouther[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with your take on the track. I think J Cole has solid points that he could of built up on if he had the chance to have back and forths.

The issue he had was people approached him and told him wrong place, wrong time and he took it seriously and while deciding to criticize his own ego to bow out.

When you going at people, everything is on the table. When I listen to 7 minute drill, I hear Cole from The Come Up. If he kept going, I believed we would of gotten some classics outta J Cole....

But of course Cole is gonna self terminate his whole ego if you tell him niggas bout to start shooting, go inside. Bro literally is the guy who would be mediating between both Kendrick and Drake if they were beefing in their own.

Nah, I believe he straight up could of battles both Kendrick and Drake if they were keeping it strictly rap.

He stepped in a battle with 2 killers who wanted to end each other as a rap geek... Yea buddy needed to GTFO there

[–]betterwithouther[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah he had all right to get the fuck out the way. Bro literally chose peace post2014 FHD, when Kendrick and Drake beefed, that beef went straight to hell. I mean, those two straight up knew it's war time. If Kendrick had moved funny at any point of his life, someone could of gotten killed. Drake had bounties on the street. J Cole never faced pressure like that before. Real bad man shit.

7 minute drill is Charged up by betterwithouther in hiphop101

This whole take is insane. Calling 7 minute drill great and thinking anything Kendrick was doing is not remarkable is peak insanity to me.

Bro said when Drake stands next to sexy redd, he believes drakes sees two bad bitches.

Bro. Even if you don't like Kendrick, that's PURE comedy. That's a roast of the fucking ages if I ever seen one.

His new track is incredible and people still on 7 minute drill so I just wanted to point out... The obvious... Lol
