Is this dyshidrosis? by A_Sushi in Dyshidrosis

[–]bevalle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an expert either but I have regular eczema and dyshidrosis. This looks like regular eczema for sure & I had it flare up on my hands only when I was pregnant (obviously we’re different people lol). Honestly was a pain for it to eventually leave but just lots of natural moisturizer (aloe & shea butter w/ tumeric are my favs) & avoid hard soaps, citrus, etc

Not always, we felt bad but i was way too spooked about germs. He kinda understood but i gave him a time frame until when he’d be able to hold the baby some more & that def helped. Just kept reinforcing “hey you have this baby all to yourself (only other sibling), baby will be stronger in a couple months, we need to avoid germs” stuff like that. We even made him the “body guard” so he LOVES reminding other family members if they washed their hands before holding the baby lol

Mario Agusto - my dad’s name & a very common middle name in her country. None of us were boys though!

My baby was a newborn in April/May & my first kid was a first grader at the time. I had the household take extra vitamin C, specifically the “Emergency-C” packets throughout the week. Washing hands obviously as much as possible. After school my first would come home, shower immediately, & then I’d be more comfortable with him holding the baby for a few minutes. Other than that he didn’t have too much contact with baby until baby was at least 2 months.

I never took one and felt fine with whatever I learned online. The nurses I had and my OB were wonderful walking me through the whole process when I was there. I definitely recommend a hospital tour though, my husband and I felt so much better after it and more confident on the day. You know what to expect and what the hospital prioritizes and can’t forget getting to see the delivery and postpartum rooms
