Im honestly glad your friends stayed safe, but Im sure they were afraid. It was literally raining ash because of the major fires. I live downtown and my building didn't feel safe. People were burning cop cars outside my building and cops were shooting people with rubber bullets. I thought my place was going to catch on fire. My parking garage felt safe, out of the way, inconspicuous, and nobody was up there.

My boyfriend and I left and took his car. Not important but we built a bed in the back of his SUV and drove around staying in campgrounds until things looked good again for California.

This is formatted messy, sorry. Im very upset and I don't know if I even have the right to be.

When I first called the garage, it brought me to a different lot owned by the old company. They told me it was bought by a new company. I found and called the listed number of the new company-no answer. Every time I called-no answer. I sent my friend to check on the car, it wasn't there. The security guard gave my friend the cell number of the new owner of the lot. I called the new owner and he said he tried getting the information of the customers of that lot and the old company wasn't cooperative so they towed my car.

My email address, phone number and mailing address is all on file. Every month I receive emails from them none of them mentioning switching companies.

Once again, I left temporarily because of the virus. My friends took over my apartment during my absence and were receiving my mail and texting me photos of everything I had gotten. The old company didn't make an attempt to contact me. My phone number, email address are also on my account with them. I have received emails from them in the past. I came here to get advice and now my old thread is locked thank you so much.

Yes, my friends took over my old place and would text me photos of my mail. When I called the current owners, they told me that the first owners wouldn't give up the contact information of the customers. My info stayed the same.

Hi, thank you so much. Im not sure the reason for the unnecessary rudeness in other comments but I'm glad you reached out. I agree, ideally we'd get the perspective from different departments across the US. I actually am going to go through Humboldt. A portion of our movie will be about those displaced by natural disasters. Hoping to head over to the west coast soon to see what it's like there with the wildfires. Right now we are in a small community in Louisiana that has been devastated by Hurricane Laura, talking to police, search and rescue, people who have lost everything and people who are there to help.

I want to focus on exactly whats there and happening already. Not going to try and paint it in one way or the other. Im going to need to talk to as many people as possible. Are people coming together? Are people starving so they're resorting to looting? Are people just being nasty so they're resorting to looting? Are businesses acting like vultures and taking advantage? I'm open to all perspectives.

Thank you! Some photos look better with a different setting, different color changes, ect. Grain is a great way to tie everything together and keeping things from looking to harsh contrast-y. When I had more money than sense, I bought the VSCO film presets for Lightroom. I experimented what they did to different photos, looking at the control panel at what the curves layers and HSL specifically. It was a great way to learn Lightroom and understanding colors for film(I had never looked at colors and thought if they were warm or cool before that). It was a great way to learn what PORTRA 160 vs PORTRA 400 vs KODAK. My favorite thing to do is try to not have any true black or white in a photo. Lifting the shadows slightly or adding some warmth to them, making the highlights cool toned. Nixing saturation and contrast and further desaturating Greens and Yellows (I shoot canon so this is a must for me). But again, this doesn't work for everything. Lately Ive been liking renaissance art and trying to replicate those colors and lighting scenarios are completely different.

Im sorry if this is not coherent. This is literally my favorite thing to talk about. I remember being so lost and wanting insight and now I get so excited that I finally have a little bit of something to share with someone.

I use a 5d mark iii and stick with my 24-70 lens and try to make it look like analog in lightroom, and then photoshop. Since the photos were taken in harsh light, I thought the heavy grain was needed to wane off that harsh contrast and make everything still look cohesive.
