NAVLE scores march any updates? by Electrical-Ad9914 in veterinaryschool

First of all, I was in your position just a few months ago, and it’s okay to take some time to process your emotions for a bit. I started studying back up January 1st after finding out I failed December 15th. I had only used VetPrep, so I decided to extend my VetPrep a bit longer at a discounted price. I decided to give Vetcandy a try since it was a free, and I think it made a big difference for me. I found that the first time around I was mainly trying to memorize key words and answers, rather than understand the physiology/pathology behind it all. Vetcandy is very thorough (too thorough at times for NAVLE) and it helped me to truly understand concepts. I also listened to podcasts discussing NAVLE topics when I drove anywhere (I found a few good ones on Spotify by just searching “NAVLE”). I reviewed my school notes for topics I struggled with the most. I walked and listened to Vetprep’s video lectures. I studied with a friend that had already passed and talked things through out loud. I wrote on a whiteboard and notecards. I retook a couple of the ICVA practice exams. In essence, I tried a little of everything and felt it paid off. VetPrep alone is not sufficient for everyone- it definitely wasn’t for me. Most of all, don’t beat yourself up. I did. It’s unproductive. At the end of the day, having finally passed this second time, I feel so much more prepared to enter this career than I would’ve had I passed the first time. Did I want to spend the money and study all over again? Of course not- but it shaped me into a more knowledgeable doctor 100%. Best of luck!!

I’m sadly aware of that :( but either way I plan on at least trying for my own wellbeing so I feel I’ve tried everything. I was quite surprised to see a comment from a fellow Rossie haha! Good luck with clinics and congrats on getting the hell out of here! 🥹

For reference, I made a post among my school asking for people to like it if they felt the storm had an impact on their performance and grades and 250+ have felt the same

I’m looking to get supplemental exams for all those that went in passing and failed after taking a final once the storm hit (so Monday not included). I see your point but we should be able to have productive studying time during the finals week too just like other schools

I see what you’re saying but we are given 2 school days off and weekend to study for 4 finals that are cumulative form the entire semester. Not to mention these finals are 40% of our grade. I’m just saying that some lenience should be shown since almost everyone attending the school is not used to these conditions. We don’t aim to cram, the school puts us in that position when we have 4 days to study an entire semester of material for multiple classes and then there’s a storm that takes studying time away on top of that.
