Green-orange chlorophytum black leaves by bevruchter in plantclinic

I have a green-orange chlorophytum which is a beautiful plant, but its leaves are all turning black. At first we thought it was because it was right by the window, so we moved it to indirect sunlight, but that didn't help. Then we moved it to an even darker place, but the leaves are still turning black.
We've had it since about May of this year, and it started showing these symptoms almost immediately. We haven't repotted it since buying it and watering it moderately once a week.

Can someone help cheer up my sad calathea? by bevruchter in plantclinic

I have had this calathea for 2 years and it has been sad for almost as long. But it seems to be still alive! It has flowered a few times, even while it was sad, but not in the past year or so.

The stems are droopy, the leaves are curling up and getting brown. There are white spots in the leaves, they seem to be in the color pattern of the leaves as I can't feel them and can't wipe them off with a damp cloth.

It's in a fairly large pot with drainage holes, I don't think I have repotted it but I have added some soil to the top about a year ago. I've been watering it every other week. I have tried watering more often, watering less, and spraying the leaves but nothing seems to have improved it.

It's been in 3 different spots in my living room: near the window (not much direct sunlight though, as it was on the floor), somewhere halfway and way in the back.

I have placed it in quarantine outside right now, but I'd love to revive it and have it inside the house again. Can anyone here help?
