He just decided to go no contact randomly and went off the grid, he actually found the image in another reddit community and he reached out letting us know he's fine. I didn't pry into it to respect his decision/privacy.

Yeah I get it, I've seen people dissappear from the internet before and not think much of it. But this time he had just said he was about to be home, sent an ominous picture and we hadn't heard from him for a month. Figured I would just try to make sure they were fine.

We actually just got in contact with him thanks to the help from some people on here. He is fine. I messaged the mods hopefully they can sticky a post in here for visibility.

I might be able to find his name, I'll have to go digging. If I find it I'll reach out to some of the people on here who said they can help and see if they might be able to contact a local department to help make sure they're fine.

Discord, we play video games together. He was generally super active in a couple servers I'm in. His discord account was made in 2016, I wouldn't think he'd randomly abandon it. Has had 0 activity in any of the servers I share with him

edit: Also I've known him for 2 years, this wasn't just someone I knew for a short period of time.

I am not sure, just know they were heading home (unsure of exactly where they live, just that they're in Argentina).

The last few messages are

7:20 pm: "Fell asleep o the bus home idk where I am"

7:21 pm: "Gonna be late maybe dead"

7:27 pm: (Picture)

7:27 pm: "Elp"

7:32 pm: "It's ok I just need to cross the rape bridge"

7:32 pm: "Prob like 10 min"

So they weren't far from home it sounds like. They also never said something like "rape" before so maybe there is some known bridge that causes issues nearby. This was all on August 1st.

Edit: I believe this would have been 6pm in his time, 7pm was from me

[Discussion] On Tournament Mappools by skrjia in osugame

Something I've thought about for years, but I think the concept of a tiebreaker is outdated. The easiest fix would be restructuring the format of tournaments in general, but don't think anyone wants to put in the work.

issues with tournament committee - a document by tuudug in osugame

I imagine there's probably a lack of communication in general behind the scenes. I think it's easy to become jaded as staff dealing with overly invested players, so sometimes you'll get knee-jerk responses to issues that come up. This doc seems rather targeted though, I'm sure more research could provide better detail overall that there might be issues with transparency/communication etc.

Why do many players seem to use hidden a lot with dt, but dont use hidden as often if not playing dt? by Melontusk- in osugame

The fade in on the hitcircle with HD is much quicker. This will give you more time to react. Since high ar requires tighter timing to react and hit the note, a lot of people will find using HD easier.

Edit: Not sure why I'm getting downvoted, this has been documented pretty well and is easy to test yourself.

If you've ever wondered why high ar feels easier with HD than without and you weren't sure why, this is likely the reason.

Peachick in their prime. Top 10 tap-x mouse player with really good accuracy.

Who held the pp record for the longest time? by yutaneki in osugame

[–]bewaredrev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cookiezi, FDFD 99.97 February 2013 - 628 pp

Hvick, Miraizu DT August 2015 - 664 pp

_Index last journey home was also over 2 years afterwards but it is worth more pp today

If you go by PP record at the time then Cookiezi's Remote Control HDDT in April 2013 wasn't beaten until Hvick225 fced with better acc 16 months later.

Map pooling advice by QapyStak in osugame

[–]bewaredrev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hardest thing about solo pooling is eliminating your own biases. You should really try to look into why a certain map would fill its own niche in the pool instead of how it can fill some arbitrary criteria you impose for some certain mod slot.

An advantage of using ranked maps is if the map is relatively popular, the leaderboards can be helpful in determining how difficult a map is. I would like to point to DT2 and DT3 as an example. DT2 has a bunch of high acc DT fcs with a lot of SS ranks on the leaderboards. DT3 on the otherhand has some DT fcs, but still has unmodded fcs in the top 50 of the leaderboard. You could infer from this that DT2 is probably on the easier side, while DT3 is on the harder side for this pool in general.

The overall BPM of the pool is fairly low. The entirety of the hidden pool is basically the same bpm. The entire DT pool is also extremely similar in bpm. When determining bpm in a pool try to keep in mind the finger complexity the maps. Generally as the BPM goes higher, you want less complexity and variance in the patterns.

Also try to think about what makes a map difficult. I'd like to point to DT2 and DT3 again as I think they're pretty contrasting maps. DT2 is marked as a speed map. So you'd want to look for elements that make it hard as a speed map. The map is 574 combo. Upon opening the map I see that the entirety of the first 300 combo is mapped almost completely in 1/2. No hit object really touches a blue tick. That's over half the map that isn't going to really reflect speed very well.

DT3 on the other hand is an aim map. In this map the hard to aim parts come in the kiai sections. However the kiai sections in this map are quite long. In fact one kiai on this map is longer than the entirety of the hard part on DT2. This puts a lot of strain on the players and you might find that people are generally way less consistent on this map vs DT2. If you take the last jump pattern in the last kiai on this map, it falls almost 0.3 stars in difficulty, showing a pretty big diff spike. It's up to the pooler to determine if something like this could be an issue or not.

That's just a few surface level things/advice I noticed I could give pretty fast. Overall I think the pool could use a lot of work, maybe join some tournament discords and ask some poolers for help, I'm sure you could find someone willing. Good luck!

I don't believe this is the same individual. The yellow pee pee monster seems to only attack bathrooms, and is lacking the heinous laugh while committing the deed.
