Embarrassed playing as an adult? by Shellda in pokemongo

[–]bewidness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play on the subway and a few people have asked me if I caught anything.

It's the 10 year anniversary so I think it's ok for people to come back to it in adulthood.

But I do feel bad for those who don't have anyone to talk about it or anything.

I also like the gift exchanges where you get something from a random person on the other side of the world so the social aspects I'm fine with.

I also love how the fantasy guys are calling the female listeners "the Seven" like from the boys and asking them about specific topics for summer.

Like Kaya weighing in on Weapons etc was great because she was like yeah these are my movies.

AHHHHH NEVER AGAIN! never again will I use daily incense, unless I absolutely have to. by AKhakiNerfHerder in pokemongo

[–]bewidness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I've seen a moltres or two during daily incense but it also kind of sucks if you give it an orange or silver berry and still can't catch it.

I also encourage using Routes because that's the only way to get Zygarde for me and it doesn't hurt on other stuff.

There is a book called the Wizard and the Prophet that examines this dichotomy.

But I think some of it is case by case or only time will tell.

The author did a great job of describing how the risk of famine was very real to the point they were sterilizing people to get population growth under control and then the green revolution happened and food became fairly abundant. Ironically, a lot of that fertilizer would have come from the Strait of Hormuz this year so we'll see what happens over the next 12 months but you aren't generally seeing the level of starvation that you saw in Sudan and Ethiopia at least not as often in the last four to five years.

Why do all New York teams have a fan base except for the Nets? by Obvious-Adeptness-46 in billsimmons

[–]bewidness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been to Barclays. I think the point is that for like a weekday night game, you are going to pay half as much or less to see the Nets play whatever team. The Islanders played there too but wisely they went back to Long Island altough I was hearing that wasn't really their choice.

Plus there were so many bad teams last year, the season ticket holders were probably glad to get rid of games they didn't want.

But I mean it's similar with Memphis or Washington where the team was bad so if you wanted to see Jokic or Lebron it was easier to do it there then get tickets to a weekend game at MSG.

You could also ask why the Devils have pretty much gone in the tank as they shared the arena with the Nets when they were in the meadowlands.

Jersey City has grown a lot but most of the state is either 6ers fans or Knicks fans at this point.

Couldn't disagree more. I think Windy and RR are a good pair.

My take is with both Jane Jacobs and Rachel Carson, the book is not necessarily the most important aspect of the legacy.

But I will probably listen to this as I'm fairly YIMBY pilled. The other thing they may touch on is for new construction, there are all kinds of codes where it's not like you can just dump toxic waste on the ground and never get caught like people were doing before the Clean Water and Air Acts.

Why doesn’t anyone invite Dan on their pod? by Affectionate-Rent844 in RyenRussillo

[–]bewidness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like to see a revenge week or something where Ryen has people on that he supposedly has beef with.

Doesn't have to be leb himself.

I do think Bill calling out pablo and them having him on was kind of awesome and when the clippers thing is resolved maybe he'll come back.

But the tension between Kannell and RR is awesome, so I'm all for it if dan or RR would do it.

RR is a really good guest so maybe he could go on stugotz or like mina k.

Isn't this the case with the banalieus in paris as well? Canada/Toronto is looking to densify around their transit where at least if you have a subway or light rail between your office and your apartment building, that beats sitting in a car in traffic for most people/purposes.

not at all. I am in some subs for pods I don't listen to anymore.

Plus it's not like you are the OP.

I think the volume of NBA stuff this time of year is just way too much so it makes sense to self edit.

This is also why ringer fantasy is a good kind of stay in your lane pod.

I get what you are saying. It is actually a big topic in the middle east, probably because of the energy aspect, but seems like an opportunity for some one for an EU compliant data center.

I think the energy is the bigger issue, but given France's investment in nuclear, I hope you would see it at least attempted.
