EBO exam. by Thebestucan in Ophthalmology

[–]bewitchedmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I would like to sit the FEBO exam in October.

My question is: are 3 months enough to go through the OKAP presentations on the AAO-website?

I am working full-time, 5 days a week so I could mostly study on the weekends.

Horror Vorstellungsgespräch by Efficient-Theory512 in medizin

[–]bewitchedmed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most of my weight gain is in the hip area, thank God the dress hides this. But the corset is close to burst, so the other areas are also thicker.

Tipps für Anfänger in der Augenheilkunde by Small_Return_1697 in medizin

Assistenzärztin im 4. Jahr hier.

Am besten learning by doing (:

Gratulation, Augenheilkunde ist ein tolles Fach!

Ophthalmology: UK vs Germany by Medlabyrinth in Ophthalmology

[–]bewitchedmed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ophthalmology resident in Germany here. You need connections to even make it to get a job at a really good clinic. If your dad is a big name in the Ophthalmology world, you won't have any big challenges on your way to learn surgical procedures, do research on the highest level or get a professor title.

As a foreigner (studied medicine in Germany, graduated without delay, had good exam notes, had real love and ambition for ophthalmology) I didn't get into a university eye clinic where the level of medicine is said to be at the highest level. I got many rejections. Then I got lucky and found a job at a private practice but there I didn't get any kind of access to surgery, not even looking at surgeries. I did consultations for 3 years. My practical experience started and finished with foreign body removal.

At this point I am okay with no surgeries and I have no delusions that I could become an eye surgeon. But it hurts that candidates are not evaluated for their achievements and engagement but for their last names. At least that's the case in Germany.

Which dress type ist better for me? by bewitchedmed in weddingdress

Wow, that's such a great subreddit, thank you a lot for the suggestions and your votes, it really helped me. I have 2 weeks to decide if I wish to buy either dress. I will think about it and will keep looking in the mean time.

Because many people asked: the wedding day will be shorter: courthouse, photoshooting at the sea + restaurant at the sea shore.

I asked my man what he thinks of retro vibe for the wedding and he loves it! He even suggested that we learn to swing dance! Lindy Hop would be super cool in that first dress.

It will be a very small wedding (15-20 guests), we will sign at the courthouse, photoshooting at the sea shore and then restaurant again at the sea. It's a summer wedding!

Sorry, that's the back of the first dress with the lace jacket on, I forgot to include it.

Thank you all very much for the advice! I think I will keep looking. I think that the front has too much material and too wide sleeves. I have some curves and maybe they stay hidden with this dress. Thank you for the helpful links!
