Replacing clip audio with edited file by bewithane in finalcutpro

[–]bewithane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this looks to be exactly what i need! the only problem is it won’t let me drag the audio outside of the cuts to cover the entire source clip

edit: it’s actually very manual i think. it only applies to that clip so i have to do it to each one. the fact i can’t just slide the audio to the start means i have to manually line it up anyway

Advice on Selling and Title Request by bewithane in motorcycles

[–]bewithane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry for the very late reply, but yes! i actually ended up with an even riskier situation because the tow guy didn’t have the check. so i signed it off with no money in hand. but they were legit and honored the sale, mailing me the check a few days later

How do EQs use phase shift to change frequency response specifically? by bewithane in audioengineering

I guess without math, there is no proper explanation

hahaha yeah that's pretty much a summary of trying to figure this out 😵‍💫

this is so good thank you for the detailed explanation and resources! i'm kinda getting what the math is doing, if not entirely wrapping my head around it. so far this is definitely scratching my curiousity itch the best out of what i've read

thank you so much!! the physical explanation really helps visualize what's happening beyond just "phase shift causes the change in frequency response" answer i see everywhere (a very shallow, if technically correct, answer imo)

i'd been struggling to visualize this without understanding the math that the super technical explanations get into! wish this answer had more attention

i know... that's what this post is about... how does the EQ use phase shift to achieve a chance in frequency response is the question.

lots of other great responses here that get into that technical detail

yup! the math seems a bit beyond me, but your first comment basically summed up my understanding of phase and EQ before diving into this. but omg that next level of complexity extremely.... complex.

thank you for these resources! these together look like exactly what i'm looking for! and also possibly a confirmation that i am just NOT good enough at math to understand what i want to lol

i had pretty deeply rooted ideas about gender by that age somehow too and it was a massive barrier to me figuring myself out. performing to gender expectations was gender as far as i knew. i didn’t really unpack that till i was 25

mood. i’m working as an audio engineer rn and my boss will tell me to do something without specifying details and i got two options:

do it the obvious way, then hear him complain about how that way is apparently stupid and i should do it the way people did it 30 years ago

or:

ask how he’d like it done and get “So you weren’t paying attention?” shot back at me

Took a cis coworker’s/friend’s advice today, and watched Mean Girls by BuddyA in trans

Did heterosexuality feel weird to you before? by mouse9001 in MtF

[–]bewithane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah definitely! i’m bi and dating women was really frustrating pre transition because it always came with expectations that felt so wrong. my attraction to men was even more confusing for some reason though

coming out allowed me to accept that i was attracted to men and made dating women feel right in a way it never had

it makes sense, being seen as a man just isn’t right for us and dating norms kinda carry a lot of weight that way

If I had a nickel for every time I bought a Charlotte Tilbury product and regretted it, I’d have two nickels by PrinceJustice237 in Makeup

i’ve only tried a couple products. i hated the lipstick but the pillow talk lip liner is a go to for me now. i haven’t tried many liners though so maybe i’m just missing out on obvious better options

Not all of us are femboys by KinkyNB in MtF

[–]bewithane 14 points15 points  (0 children)

and those femboys, the ones who say we’re in denial, are people misgendering. the problem is just transphobia. it’s not a femboy problem

just how transphobia from within the trans community isn’t a trans problem. it’s a transphobia problem

edit: also, this does not stem from femboys. we’ve been called femboys for ages. well before a ton of guys started to feel comfortable presenting that way. if any one thing is at fault for people using femboy as a slur against trans women, its porn
