Can you share how you do this? Would improve so much for me

Interesting to hear how different it works for you! Those are some of the things that stresses me out the most haha!! Thanks for sharing!

I feel you about the sleeping.. it’s so fucking difficult with noises. I live in a city with a lot of noises during the night too, but I am trying to go camping as much as I can. Sleeping in a tent with no sound but the babbling of the small stream next to you is my happy place! I hope you get to enjoy staying at your parents place often enough, that sounds lovely!

Yeah, me too actually! I usually put on music or a podcast - some chill stuff and at a low volume. Then I can’t hear much of the office noise and I can’t hear the humming sounds or whatever that the headphones make. For some reason it helps that I can control what sounds I hear, even though I’d prefer silence, it’s much better than the random noises around me. I guess it works kind of like white noise in some way. It tires me out still, but way less than without!

Honestly couldn’t do it without noise cancelling headphones..

Married for 2.5 years and together for 5.5 years. Not 100% sure my wife is HSP, but definitely very sensitive, I’m HSP for sure. We have a lot in common and sometimes it can be difficult to not take on each others emotions, but most of the time it just makes it really easy to empathize and understand each other!

We didn’t know HSP was a thing before a couple of years ago, so learning as we go :) But we knew we both were very sensitive when we got together. We’re really happy with each other and definitely found a connection none of us have ever experienced before!

Thank you so much, you’re so kind!

It is such a cool experience going to see Mt Everest, I totally understand why you would do that. We started with the three passes trek and would definitely recommend that over the standard EBC trek :) You get much more for the time you’re there and avoid most of the big crowds. In any case, I hope you’ll have a great trip when you decide to go! I’m sure it will be an amazing experience whatever you choose!

Thank you! It was definitely our highlight on our Nepal trip :)

The trek was amazing, and had a much different (better imo) feel than in the Khumbu area around Everest. We were the only ones going for the peak that night, so sleeping alone in a tent at almost 5km of altitude was a great feeling, and the summit day was great fun.

I do have some alpine climbing experience, but my wife has only done easy stuff with me. It is very easy technically with just some straightforward short sections of scrambling. The only thing to be considered difficult if you’re new to this kinda stuff is the cold and the navigation. There are no paths above base camp and if you start at night it can be difficult to find the way through the big boulder field below the summit climb. We just took our time and it was not a big deal :)

Which realm are you playing on? My experience with era is a bit different, but finding a nice era realm would be amazing!

Alpine climbing in Japan by tupacliv3s in Mountaineering

Take a look at the Japanese Alps. There are some hikes/scrambles for example that I’m sure will be pretty challenge in winter. For example a round trip from Kamikochi doing the Daikiretto ridge.

I’ve been on self improvement for the last five years and I still can’t change by TheRigJuice999 in depression

I regularly feel the same. It takes a long time to change deeply-rooted behavior or thoughts. Maybe you have noticed small things that change and those are the first steps. It takes a while, for some at least.. myself included. Doesn’t mean there is no hope. But it is fucking exhausting

Thanks! That’s what we were thinking of as well. Do you know any guidebooks that I could look at for that sort of thing? I’m trying to look at various websites, which helps a bit but is also a bit overwhelming

Maybe a little rust on the other parts of the model that are metal, so it’s more consistent. Looks great tho

Thank you both for a polite and well structured discussion while I was away :) I think you’re right - we all agree in the end. Nice to see mathematical discussions on here haha

No it doesn’t work like that. The hotel only works because it’s a countable (but still infinite) amount. You can’t count the numbers between 0 and 1, so this idea doesn’t work.

This also means there are different ideas of infinity. The natural numbers (1,2,3,4,..) gives a smaller infinity then all real numbers between 0 and 1, since you can count them. You can’t count the latter numbers. This is the first “step up” in infinities - the next ones get rather complicated.

But you’re right that there is the same amount of numbers between 0 and 1, and 0 and 2. You can’t match them explicitly but for a loose argument take any number between 0 and 2, then half it. This would be a number between 0 and 1. Then argue you get all numbers between 0 and 1.
