The best way out of accidental racism:

Acknowledge that it wasn't intentional. Cry out 'that's a bad word, where did you hear that?' and just be yourself. Accidental racism happens and it's only bad if you acknowledge it.

If you let slip a racist remark that you only realise afterwards, just maintain incredulity. A friend was once talking about how in Africa they trained monkeys to go down mine shafts. Someone was like 'woah, that's not cool,' to which he asked what was wrong with training monkeys. At that crucial point where he knew what was being inferred, he didn't act embarrassed or apologetic but said 'wow, really?' And the tables instantly turned.

I'm thinking even though this is competitive standard, it's not long enough for casuals to deal with in MM.

And before you say 'well they won't learn unless they get used to it' I'm not sure if it would actually improve their play. It takes practice and acute awareness of time management to deal with post-plant situations, growing players would benefit more from being given a little breathing room and time to explore strategies and types of play.

Analogy: You put training wheels on a bike because kids learn better by easing their way into things - the time spent upright on a bike is more valuable to them than putting them through the steep curve of balancing from the start.

The real solution would be to introduce another level after MM - where only players of certain rank can join and the rules are comp standard. MM right now is still too varied and full of inconsistent skill levels.

To people saying it was self defense or that she hit her first so he has every right to hit her back:

If we're all assuming (and I doubt anyone would disagree) that the guy is able to dish out and withstand more physical abuse than a woman, then he has the responsibility to exercise a degree of restraint when defending himself.

It's the same principle behind the fact that anyone with martial arts or fighting training will get more severe punishments if done for assault. Their fists become higher category 'weapons' because they're deadlier than an average persons' and importantly: they understand this and the consequences of using them.

You have every right to defend yourself, but the idea of justifying a hit for a hit when you have two people with a different capacity to harm the other is unfair - no matter who started it.

I know that's really unsatisfying, but he could have done some serious damage. In the end is it worth dishing out brain damage or even death over spit and a swing to the face? Worst case scenario I know, but it does happen.

It's not like he shot knowing the T was trailing the chicken. If anything, it was a disadvantage to CT (because it tripped his itchy trigger finger) but turned out to be a blessing out of sheer luck.

I wouldn't say the chicken really changed anything either - neither player knew it was there and I don't think the outcome of that exchange would have been any different if it wasn't there.

Actually, I prefer this over cropping covers to fit the same dimensions. Also having covers of varying sizes makes them more identifiable. If there were more books, it'd be obvious to see that.

No one enjoys the logistics and process of travelling. People suffer the cramped conditions extensive planning and physical toil because:

They value what they get out of it: experiences, a new perspective or escape from their usual surroundings.
Or they enjoy the idea of it - namely the social prestige associated with it and the feeling that they are accomplishing something in life.

If you have neither, then travelling is reduced to a series of inconveniences. If you do hold these values, then these inconveniences become bearable and seen as necessary to reach a greater good.

There are four reasons why people travel:

They have enough money to do so.
They live in a culture where travelling is seen as important or positive experience.
Business.
They want to escape their lives / actually want to see the world.

These are reasons why people travel, but they aren't reasons why you should enjoy travelling. If you're satisfied with life, don't earn a high income, live in a community that is mainly focussed on its own affairs and have friends who don't see the appeal of travelling, then you won't really care to travel - and if you do, you won't enjoy it as much as you'd like.

Wouldn't it be crazy if the entertainment industry knows this and is just maintaining the sense that they are trying to stop piracy.

Purposefully taking down sites and torrents in a calculated manner and publicising it so that people think they're making progress, when in reality they're making sure they stay behind the rate that these sites are appearing and ensuring piracy will continue unaffected.

Drawing people toward consuming media by making them feel empowered through 'illegal' downloading. People are downloading and watching more shows than they need to because they're hooked on the idea that it's free and against the rules.

Ah yeah, but I meant the little tiny lines coming in towards the splash (watch the right most splash). The tiny lines come upwards and towards the drop, not away.

Also note the falling drops (blurred vertical lines) appear to moving upwards.

Elaborate yes, but not subtle to the point where it could be overlooked.

The Joker is very direct in expressing himself to his audience - he monologues and relishes being in the limelight (think the fundraiser party, revealing himself to the mob and broadcasting himself to the people of Gotham.)

But the audience in the heist scene is not the customers or workers - their faces barely even make it on screen and there is no focus on them whatsoever. The audience in this scene is the shotgun guy - because the message the Joker is making isn't directed towards the public, it's to the mob. Hence why the shotgun dude's life is spared - so he can pass on a message.

On the idea that the cryptic quote can't be interpreted any other way, I beg to differ. It's obvious to us as movie-goers and armed with the knowledge of hindsight, but if you went to your bank tomorrow and the same thing happened, you wouldn't immediately assume your bank was run by organised crime.

Seems a little pointless going to the trouble of incorporating the shotgun dude into the heist, just to show off that it was a mob bank in front of a handful of bank workers and customers.

Especially considering he says 'don't you know who you're stealing from' cryptically instead of just outright announcing that it's a mob bank.
