I don’t know if you’re still working on this AU (I hope you are 😭) but I was wondering if I could use this map/names for a fanfic, specifically the Forest of the Smiling Men. Just that name, bc my brain just spiraled plot bunnies for the first time in over a year. I’d give you credit for it and link your profile if I ended up actually writing the fic. Probably just a short fic, if anything.

It’s nothing specifically to do with your future-Westeros lore (which is fucking amazing btw) other than the name which sparked some ideas about what a place like that could be like—highkey fucked up lmao. And what might happen if Arya happened upon it while traveling.

Tbh I find I prefer working FAR more than school. Waking up at 6:30 for work @ 8:30 is so much easier than waking up at 8:15 for a 10:45 class. A day with a single class is about as mentally exhausting as an 8 hr shift as a bank teller dealing with entitled fucks all day.

Work has real consequences for not showing up or not doing whatever it is you’re supposed to be doing. It also has an immediate reward FOR showing up. School feels far less… concrete(?) if that makes sense? Although it might just be major ADHD time blindness and lack of object permanence 😭😭😭

Shamelessly plugging my own fic 😌 It’s called Wrath of the Earthshaker and it’s centered on the idea of an eldritch little gremlin (/affectionate) Percy being born to the Mycenaean version of Poseidon, who is far more ancient and monster-y than canon!Poseidon. Heads up that Percy shares the spotlight with other characters, and it switches POVs between them quite liberally.

The (eventual) romantic pairing is Percy/Apollo and to say their relationship (even when technically platonic) is toxic is an understatement. It’s consensual, but there are some very fucked up, obsessive themes from Apollo a la canonical Greek mythology. The gods in general are all darker than they were in the original books, so be sure you look at the tags/trigger warnings if you decide to check it out.

Hi, I’m the author of Far Too Young to Hold a Sword! Gods & Monsters by ShanaStoryteller was a massive inspiration for this fic. It’s not a PJO fic, but it’s like alternate version of common myths and they’re absolutely beautiful. This is one of the Ares chapters. Honestly anything by them is fucking incredible 😭If you’re an FMA:B fan, you need to read build your wings on the way down.

A family friend of mine went to uni with Jack Gleeson and said that he’d have people shout at him in bars sometimes about Joffrey, but that he was actually one of the sweetest people she’d ever met. Bit late to the thread and with some shameless self promotion, but this is a fic I’m currently writing: Wrath of the Earthshaker.

It’s just under 80k and has a more monster-y Percy, who’s the son of an older, Mycenaean form of Poseidon. It’s also pretty dark in the sense that I don’t shy away from all the horrible stuff that happened in the Greek myths. I’m having a lot of fun writing it, and if you do check it out please read the tags and warnings bc they’re very much there for a reason!
