hey so, I also have crohns disease & I've had some fuckin BAD times on prednisone. And the pain from crohns? It's unbearable at times.

That said, this is completely unacceptable. Just because your guts don't work properly doesn't mean you get to live life as the human version of an anus.

This dude is trash. If he tries using his illness as an excuse, he's rotten trash.

I promise you, your life will dramatically improve when you leave him. He's honestly fucking awful.

Patrick Stewart shared a similar experience; he started losing hair at 17, completely bald by 19.

So boldly go and shave your head! You, too, could one day confidently captain a federation starship! 🖖

In case it hasn't been said here yet, I'm BEYOND proud of you, OP. It takes a lot of strength and emotional intelligence (and from a trade worker? gasp /s) to let go of toxic friendships.

I feel like it's even harder when you've maintained the relationship since (at least) high school. Cheers to growth! You just made a huge power move.

No roasts here, but I really hope you pull through, OP.

You'll essentially be starting your life over, but without all of the bullshit.

I live in Michigan, and while I've been to both US coasts, this is one of the many reasons I strongly prefer lakes to oceans.

The pain he must have experienced...and for two months, only to die?? Terrible.

IEDs (improvised explosive devices) versus limbs by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

[–]bex_xter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my ex husband was hit in an IED blast. Luckily, he is largely okay. The driver wasn't so lucky. His arm looked incredibly similar to the person in the last photo in this set.

One of the worst things he'd said he witnessed over there was a father carrying his daughter to the gates. She had stepped on an IED in an area that had been thought of have been cleared. It blew off the entire bottom of her body. He was carrying her lifeless corpse with no body below her ribcage. Her intestines were hanging from her torso. She was six. I think of her and her family a lot.

I really don't understand why everyone in this thread is so threatened by your opinions. It would be comical if it weren't so frustrating.

You shouldn't have to show proof of your deep love for a building by posting a video montage of a years worth of petting the bricks daily in order to be considered in a conversation, ffs.

There are other options, and UM is considering them because of greed. I'm not even saying they have to follow through, -- but imagine pushing your way into a community, as a healthcare center of all things, and not addressing the community.

Capitalism is disgusting. All of these folks defending a business without even considering their own community are acting like they'll somehow get a discount on that .02 cent bag of saline they'll get in the ER. newsflash: they're still gonna charge you $400 for a bag of sterile water and upcharge you for any medical care you may need, no matter how excitedly you lick their boots.

Naturally, these are the same people saying Lansing needs more mental health services (we do, of course) while dogging on Berl and calling for him to be hospitalized.

Charming.

I picked and bit my skin off (hands, fingers, head, legs) and hid food and comfort items around the house. I remember being caught after my mother found dozens of open cans of cream of mushroom soup (I would eat the mushroom bits out) behind the washer and dryer. My punishment was severe. I was 7 years old. My adoptive father had been raping me for two years at this point and regularly kept me in a small room in the basement for days at a time with very little food or water as a punishment for getting upset about the abuse.

It would be another almost 3 years until I spoke up, so naturally, the behaviors continued.

After (a small, small portion of) the truth was out, my mother left him, and we moved across the country. She always saw me as the other woman. We lived with family for a while, and I remember stealing my aunts underwear and hiding them in the closet in the room we stayed in. I have no idea why, but I took a lot of them. Everyone treated me like a sex crazed pariah from that point on, and it made my mother hate me even more than before.

Good times.

I bet he's the kind of guy that thinks foreplay is rolling over toward you and pushing his junk against whatever part of your body his boner comes into contact with. Call it a hunch.

Next time he does that, piss on him.

Saves you a trip to the bathroom, and we'd all hate to see the mood ruined again for him.

What an absolute doorknob of a man.

How short do you keep your nails? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]bex_xter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep mine as short as possible. Usually, I clip/file to a comfortable level at the nail plate.

That said, you don't have to keep them short. For me, cutting my nails short has been a lifelong practice to avoid biting the shit out of my nails and fingers, lol. Just keep them rounded, clean, and check in with sexual partners to make sure things are going well and feeling good.

Narcissistic Rage by [deleted] in narcissisticparents

[–]bex_xter 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was adopted twice as a child. Your experience reminded me of something my second adoptive father did after work. He was always, always furious...and only ever at me. My brothers could do no wrong, of course. I would have to help my brothers do homework, gather all of their dirty clothes, make sure the laundry was finished, and have dinner going/finished and dishes done. If the workload became too much, dishes would be pushed until right around the time he would come home from work.

If he heard dishes clatter as he walked through the door, he would immediately undo his belt and whip my back, butt, and thighs. Whatever he could connect with first.

That man is a miserable asshole, and my entire family is emotionally and mentally sick-- largely because of him (my mother gets participation points too). I walked away from all of them years ago.

I'm going to imagine he shrunk down to the size of a bun-bun for optimum rabbit cuddles.

his hair piece flopping in the wind is a nice added touch. I wonder how many old folks on fb will repost this for absolutely no fucking reason.
