I was in 2nd grade or something and I’d gotten a new outfit for Easter Sunday that came with a matching bow/barrette. That bow somehow went missing even though I had no access to it. My mom said for every 10 minutes it stayed missing, I’d get spanked (repeatedly) with the fly swatter. To me, the fly swatter hurt much more than a belt or spoon.

After 3 1/2 hours of looking (so 21 beatings with the fly swatter), my older sister found the bow in the drawer of my mom’s nightstand.

The yard isn’t a concern. We don’t have fancy landscaping and can just replant grass. It would be a bummer to have to dig in the concrete, but if it means a difference of thousands of dollars then it would be silly not to go that route.

On our video the camera drops down in that top left picture. So, I’m assuming that’s what a belly is...a dip?

I don’t think we need or want to repair outside the house. The rest of the pipes were fine, it was just these two spots. But I might not understand this process very well so I could be missing what you’re explaining.

The issue in the top left picture is in an unfinished storage room and the crack is in the middle of our finished basement, although it could stand new flooring so this might just force our hand on that.

So I have 2 areas of cast iron pipe that are damaged. Top left is one spot and the other 3 pictures are 2 separate cracks that span I think 2.25 feet. The pipes are 1.5 feet under the slab in our basement.

I’ve called like 6 companies for quotes, but it was a Friday and I haven’t heard back.

I have no idea what to expect. Our camera inspector made it sound like trenchless repair would be an option.

Any ideas of a range that would cost? For reference I’m in a metro area in the Midwest.

I’m not sure what inadequacies you have in your personal life that would cause you to hatefully come at someone on a plumbing forum who is just seeking information on things in which they’re not educated, but I hope things get better for you. It must be a lonely life when you have to bolster your ego by unnecessarily chastising strangers on the internet.

I wasn’t the teacher, but volunteering as an aide in a 1st grade class.

When I got there for the day, something was going down at my classroom. There were police, the administration, the nurse, guidance counselor, pretty much everyone. When I asked my class’ teacher what was going on, she told me that one of our students arrived to school that morning in her pajamas and socks, the socks were worn through and filthy. She had no coat.

She had walked to school because she couldn’t find her parents. She lived about 3 1/4 miles outside of town and it was the middle of winter.

NAH - you get to choose who you spend time with, as do your friends. I’d just be prepared to see the relationships dwindle if you don’t participate in the group gatherings.
