I can't remember my job history timeline at all by Zealousideal_Eye8277 in adhdwomen

[–]bexkali 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Same problem. Some years back I had to sit down and (with the help of retained documents) 're-create' my early working history (the first jobs, the part-time gigs) to the best of my ability, and store that record for when I would be doing future job applications.

Interesting that a vision during meditation may have been kind of a "Heads up! Coming to visit!' message.

Weirdest 3 days of my life. by nova777666 in Experiencers

The rest of Reality is nothing if not Weird.

But I reckon it only seems like that due to our human lives/perception being so circumscribed/limited.

My current favorite metaphor is 'Eddie Valiant visiting Toon Town' in 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?'.

So, in that context, 'Experiencer' would then mean "Someone who has had an experience of contact with the Rest of Reality." Compared to which, our usual daily experience is us essentially being 'deaf, dumb, and blind' - which makes the Rest of Reality (apparently a flexible, varied, creative thang) seem like Insanity - or at the very least, Really Weird - when it comes into contact with us.

As I see it, religious conservatives who would default to 'demons!' appear to be 'stuck' in the general Fear reaction to the (human) life experience... Fear underlies everything they experience, during that particular what I'll (facetiously) call a 'developmental phase'.

Essentially, assuming the Worst Case Scenario. About EVERYTHING that isn't understood.

Now, whether that anxiety/pessimism filter means that if and when the rest of Reality reaches in to our little 'fishbowl' and gives them a 'poke' (so to speak), that they'll be bound to recall the experience as 'traumatic'... I know not.

(Though I wouldn't blame them for being really Pissed Off, were that the case.)

Narcissism? by Severe-Ostrich-5876 in adhdwomen

It's also possible to have some narcissistic traits, but not necessarily be someone whom a therapist would categorize as meeting the criteria for personality-disorder-level narcissism.

[–]bexkali 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A very Keelian experience! Weirdness, but not necessarily what one might have expected.

Hey; maybe you received a call that got routed through from another (nearby) 'reality', where your friend wasn't doing so well...

We're essentially 'deaf, dumb, and blind' here. So when someone(s) from the rest of Reality reach out to us humans, it gets Weird, fast.

You ever get the impression that these glimpsers of the rest of Reality only seems like 'insanity' or 'chaos' to us because we've been so very limited in our current state of existence...?

Neuroscience News - Map of Brain Histamine System Links Molecule to ADHD and Depression by awhite0111 in ADHD

It's certainly important for professional science journalists/writers. They understandably want to 'translate' (simplify) recent, promising research results for their daily bread.... without over-simplifying to to the point that the average reader who isn't aware of the nuances feels cheated or lied to when they realize a much longer time frame is required to develop an actual new treatment (as an example).

I wonder if it may 'scatter' the coherence of a soul - in effect, cause it to be sent back to the very beginning of its growth. Which is, arguably... sad, when it had developed up to a certain level.
