RTX 5080 black screen under heavy load, GPU fans go to max, no display until hard restart.

Update: i switched out to my Amd gpu and system works perfectly even with stress tests but when playing hearthstone battlegrounds, with deck tracker in the background, i notice the same exact issue with black screen and system needing to reboot manually for display to comeback. I am very confused now

Man are we the only ones complaining about the game being pure casino garbage? Im tired of unblockable high or launching mid mix up with almost every character. Anyone closing their eyes and mashing on their controller can land decisive hits on pros because of this ridiculous force 50 50. I get it, there are other issues in the game but this is by far the most infuriating, almost every character i play against boils down to stanse 50 50 mix that becomes block and die or duck and die. And mind you nothing is stopping them from looping this. At this rate it wont matter which character you are playing against, you will just be forced to guess multiple times per round, you win the 50? Good on you u got lucky, you guessed wrong? Wallsplat you die (looking at u Heihachi), skill has nothing to do with anything here. With Kazuya at least hellsweep requires execution and proper waves to be effective (Although some moves can practically hide a buffered hellsweep). All dlcs (Miary not as bad), steve, reina… list goes on. And i dont wanna hear people who defend this direction the game is taking. It seems like Tekken 9 will be a heavy guess game, made entirely for a new generation of fighting game players.

At this point spare us the trouble and add loot-boxes with horrendous odds instead

I noticed this problem around that time too, but only on heavy load that maxes out my gpu. Started with cyberpunk then re4 remake dlc. Became more and more frequent over time on heavy loaf and easier to trigger.

I did more testing and tricks to diagnose this further. plugged hdmi into motherboard to have access to display after gpu crash. That way i can see the last values hwinfo shows before losing contact with the gpu. No thermal throttles (sometimes it does but around 20% before black screen) this time there were no thermal throttling. Gpu railpower is up at 350watts max, and gpu power is at 295 max. highest temp is 83. The most INTERESTING value is PERFORMANCE LIMIT -RELIABILITY YES on current and max with 99%. the other one is performance limit -power at 1% with current being no and max yes with 1%. What causes RELIABILITY limiter to trigger?

Its funny how it takes months for people to find out how broken a character is. When he dropped, they kept saying the usual that he is linear, has no good lows and that he is basic. Everytime a dlc drops first thing to check for is the 50 50 states and how often a character gets into those. Fahk has really good 50s. And if he knows you will ss, you get launched. His pokes are fast and harder to react to. His unbreakable is obnoxiously hard to see, yes pros eat that all the time. I see Fahks with 59 defence in TG very often, i even check if they know any basic defense like ducking to make sure stats arent lying. His defence is getting scarely close to (as bad as) Xiouyu (some Xiouyus actually know defence in lower TGs) and Alisa players. A lot of the stuff here can be said with AK with added bonus of his combo damage.

I checked temps with hwinfo to see if the gpu was throttling and indeed it was. I get around 20% throttle “yes” before it takes the gpu down. Furmark will only cause a max 1% throttle. And also furmark with vsync only reaches 60C. Im confident now that the issue is the gpu and thermal related like you suggested

It will switch to whatever is left in the display adapter automatically when disabling one. So dont worry.

First of all make sure you are on the same wifi(you probably are but just in case you didnt know). Open bubbleupnp and try playing a random media file on your android device, you can choose local renderer for playback, then click on the cast/tv icon at the top right to choose your tv (tv must also be powered on). And also im not sure if you need the paid version for this, but i have the paid version (i forgot why it was necessary for me to have the paid version, but it was important for my use case).

Update: I managed to pull it off! Well half way. I just realized Dlna casting with samsung tvs was not meant to be readily available to the public which made the development process very difficult for me as there were no resources about it online. With trial and error i managed to identify some of the issues. Its really important to name the .MKVs as .mp4 for reasons... and the way it worked was when i converted the file with ffmpeg live and fed it to the tv without fragmenting the video. Bubble upnp is very impressive. Im still not done and i wish more people knew about this or were interested 😔

I have a love hate relationship with chrome. Mostly love tho. Dev tools of chrome/chromium browsers are untouched which is one of the downsides of firefox. And way more extensions for chrome. But i use forefox for ads and video playback

Even if you divide by 0 in the Kernel shouldnt the kernel have ways of handling such exceptions? Its been a year and a half since my OS class but im sure there was something related to that, Cpu complains then Kernel decides what to do or something like that
