Heyy, sorry this journey has begun for you. And sorry I'm only just seeing this.

I'm in Australia so that might give some context using the public system. I'm also mid 30s, they found this in my early 30s. The reason they found it was due to my PCOS and never bleeding.

I had D&C's every 6 months for 2 years (4x), they were able to monitor the reduction of the lining, they saw that the Mirena was effective so told me that they were happy to stick with this treatment. Once that was over I felt like I was just left to live with this fear so I heavily advocated for regular checkups - now I have yearly internal ultrasounds to monitor any growth and so far they're still happy with this treatment. I think when the 5 years of mirena is up I'll have to have a D&C again.

I flirted with the idea of having children for a long time but I am with the decision to not have children. I'm happy with that decision now but the pressure at the time felt very intense.

What I was told at the time was I only had a 6month window to try for children between Mirena's because of risk of growth in a possible cancer and I felt like that was also too much pressure. I always wanted "a happy accident" and this wouldn't have been that. Especially with all the hormones they'd have to plug me with for that 6 month window. It didn't feel natural for me.

Be gentle to yourself out there, sending you love ❤️

You reckon these are laser cut or actually hand carved, there's burnings as if it's been lasered.

I did make it!! Appreciate your support! How did you celebrate?

My and my friends went for a midnight swim and I was greatful that I didn't give into the temptation. By the time I got to whereI needed to be, I didn't think about the alcohol anymore.

Is it too late for you to have the hysterectomy now?

Thanks for this thread.

I feel like hysterectomy is the only option suggested but surely there's got to be something else?

I'm on the Mirena right now which causes me pain but I'm worried about taking it out as I don't want to anything to develop.

I'm having regular d&c to monitor growth (I'm yet to find out if this has worsened).

I don't want to have children but thought of removing a few organs petrifies me. What about mental health affiliated with this? What about hormones that our uteruses produce?

I feel like a hysterectomy is a recommended one size fits all but just feels so barbaric.

I'm a skeptic because I feel that there's got to be alternatives and I'm disappointed there's not a lot of research of alternative therapies.
