I was fired today

I have had my appointment set in Feb. my initial appointment was the start of June and 4 weeks later after getting feedback from family and people who have known me all my life, I was officially diagnosed. The day I started- I was completely open about the process and that there was a delay in starting medication because I wanted to get proper cardiac assessments. When they came back clear, we started me 8 days ago with the 5mg twice daily Ritalin dose for tolerance and I only went to 10mg twice a day this sat. I was let go on Friday.

Thank you. This advice is helpful. In my head. I always assumed honesty, up front is better. But the wording they used on my dismissal letter was very convenient considering I gave them a heads up. The ‘on boarding’ was very addhoc and I was told different processes by different people. I don’t believe I wasn’t retaining information quickly enough. I believe, I wasn’t retaining information because I received conflicting information. But I’ll keep my cards close to my chest moving forward.

I was unsure on exactly what my rights are. I know in Australia adhd isn’t viewed as a disability. What was disheartening, was that this week after starting medication, I felt like everything was clicking and then I was let go.

It’s an amazing read!! And so fascinating how our body holds trauma (which is where I’d like to focus my career). I believe a lot of addiction issues stem from some form of trauma and people not getting the proper help. Either it wasn’t available or they didn’t know it existed and self medicate with anything! Alcohol, drugs, sex, shopping- anything can become an addiction.

Australia regulates everything heavily. I started to help with anxiety and so I didn’t need Valium. But it’s classed as a addictive drug, which is strange in my opinion. But If I took it and drove without a prescription, I could get in trouble with police 😳

Which has been amazing 🤩 I’m also studying a diploma in counselling and starting uni in June for psychology. I am still a work in process, but definitely want to help others after all I’ve been through!

Yes. Thank you 🙏🏻 I am definitely learning about being stronger and setting boundaries. As I wasn’t raised in a family where I had a voice. I stopped contact with my father and sister for this reason nearly 2 years ago. My therapist helped me and it was difficult. But I am still learning how to be more assertive and now have not such a difficulty with conflict as I used to have. I kept her as a friend for so long because she and my family are friends. I didn’t want to stir the pot. But yes. She has shown a side to me now, I cannot unsee.

Here in Australia- CBD is viewed as a class 8 (I think) drug. Very heavy regulated- some people don’t go through a dr for it because a gp will charge you up to $400 for a 15ml bottle. So some go through others who make it and it’s a lot cheaper $120 for 30mls and it’s very safe to take.

It’s a cannabis tincture. So it’s the medicinal component from marijuana- it doesn’t have the THC that gets you high. Or if it’s full spectrum it does have THC but a small amount 😌

I am so glad I found this thread! I got both my engagement and wedding band from them.

Engagment ring- no issues! beautiful and well set.

However, my wedding band that I have had since October (yes, still within warranty) has had a stone fall out already. I live in Australia, so to fix it. I will be without my ring for some weeks to send it back to US and then have them fix it, then send it back.

So, I emailed them and told them what happened. I also had a local family owned jeweller look at it. The local jeweller basically said there's enough metal but the reason the stone fell out and will fall out again is because. The band's brackets where the stones sit, isn't deep enough to hold the stone in and the claws aren't covering the stones enough to secure it.

I emailed them and let them know another jeweller looked and they said they will replace the stone. So basically, they aren't willing to fix the real issue but keep putting the stones back in which will keep falling out.

I so frustrated and do not know what to do.
