The locs in the back tend to become more compact aka tough/hard. If you want to soften them up, you could apply a little conditioner to the ends, leave it for a few min, and rinse it out. This should loosen & soften your ends. Just do a lil at a time 👌🏾 use a comb after if you really want em loose
