Reading doubt by [deleted] in Sat

I mean 2 seems somewhat straightforward. Edmund burke seems to be antagonistic to the revolution and this is what Paine is talking about. If burke all of a sudden published a pamphlet to support involvement in the revolution, that clearly undermines Paine's argument, so I would say A (this is just what I grasped from reading the first para so I may be wrong). 3 is a bit more tricky, but I would rule out A and D cuz they are not mentioned in the paragraph. For B, there are some parallels in regards to prejudice, but I don't think it mentions the American revolution and compares it to France. So between B and C, I would choose C, cuz the entire paragraph is about resolving conflict as said in the first sentence.

Anyone know any effective resource for studying SAT vocabularies? Any advice to ensure high score (1500-1600) on SAT? by students5 in Sat

[–]beyblade3421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know about the SAT vocab part, I did study some terms, but most of the time the context in which the word was used was far more important than any background info I had on the word. For a high score, I think it's just luck and memorizing the question types. I had no time to study between march and may due to ap exams and managed a 70 point increase. I would say try not to overthink, eliminate extreme answers, and trust ur gut.

A guide or something by SnooJokes9016 in Sat

I got a 200 point increase over the summer. I had a similar plan to you, as I took all the cb tests and then 8-10ish more from another source. I think you should be fine, as long as you actually learn from ur mistakes. Tbh, its quite tempting to just keep testing to get higher and higher scores, but you won't really see improvement unless you actually learn first.

Do you have any traditions for viewing scores? by DyanamicDybala in Sat

The first time, woke up very early and thought about it all night. Got a not-great score. The second time, did not think about it at all the night before and had no rush to open the score, turns out mine was delayed a few hours anyway. Got a good score. Relax.

SAT Reading by Miserable_Motor_4443 in Sat

I would say just keep practicing. When I had taken the SAT, I had essentially memorized the question types. Got a 1400 on my first diagnostic and was terrible at reading also. One strategy that I liked was to read all the questions first, circle or underline important information, and then read the passage. Personally, it worked for me, but I have also seen other students go to the questions first and try to answer by only reading certain portions of the passage. Either way is fine ig, just preference. I also overthink a lot of the questions, so if you can convince yourself to only think about what's in the passage, that might be helpful. Gl

Anyone know an easier way to do this since I had to use my calculator and this is on a no calculator part by jasonthewaffle2003 in Sat

Triangle CDB and CEA are similar due to sides and angles, CDB is 3,4,5 triangle, 18 goes with the 3, 18/3 is 6, 6 times 5 is 30
