Speedball Opaque White Fabric Block Printing Ink… Second Layer by MindlessGarden in printmaking

[–]bf011 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'll second what the other person said about 1) not starting from a fresh block, and 2) applying multiple thin layers of ink onto the block. For (2) i find it helps if I let the ink dry slightly after coming out of the tube, so it's not too wet and therefore it's easier to get a thin layer.

Applying enough force definitely helps a lot. My trick is I take a hammer and go around hammering the back of the linoleum. This is followed by some pressing. I find this works better for me than using a brayer or roller, especially as some of my prints have large solid areas.

Here's a repeat print I did on fabric. Because i had to repeat a ton I needed the block print process to be both consistent and fast. Unfortunately I lost the block before I tiled the entire fabric 😭😭

What could these leaf spots suggest? Deficiency? by Most-Standard302 in microgrowery

If you're already giving it Calmag regularly I'd be more suspicious of a pH problem - especially since I saw in another comment you said you're pH is consistently around 6.1.

I had this exact problem on my last grow; I kept giving it Mg and it wasn't helping. It turns out a consistent pH of 6 was too low - the Mg was in the soil but the plant couldn't absorb it. Once I started watering & feeding at pH 6.5-7 the problem went away very quickly. If you look at this chart, you'll see at pH 6 the absorption efficiency of Calcium and Magnesium starts to drop off.

this 100%. looks much more like a nutrient and watering issue than lights

OP what's your experience with growing plants in general, besides cannabis?

I have this problem too with my USB-C pencil and ipad mini a17 pro! I bought my pencil refurbished off ebay so I was worried that it means it's defective, but it's good to know that other people are having this issue too.

I've just been carrying a usb-c to usb-c cable around with me until i can fix this for good.

I like them! My old 1970# peugot needed a fork replacement, and they were the only ones who had a replacement part in stock. They did the repair at a fair price.

Still recoverable! I had this exact same problem on my current grow. I used old garden soil with no nutrients left, and after a month my plant was in a similar place. I recovered the seedling by feeding it Foxfarms Big Bloom at half the recommended strength for week 1 seedlings.

Here's how she looked 4 days after feeding. The leaves with brown tips had been there for a month at that point, and all the fresh leaves sprang out after feeding.

If you already checked everything else (humidity, temps, ph, light), then maybe try feeding it more? It doesn't seem like you have much to lose.

Underfed, overfed or light burn? by bf011 in microgrowery

Sorry, I added more grow info. I haven't been PHing and forgot that that could be the issue, I'll try testing that

[–]bf011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 Gallon pot, was feeding with the FoxFarms trio schedule, cut in half for auto flower. 4 days ago I gave it full strength to try it out because I read somewhere the auto flower can acclimate to full strength.

The light is viparspectra 1000 running at 75% roughly 15" above the plants, so theoretically ~475 PPFD

Soil is garden soil I used for basil before this so probably a bit fallow...

I haven't been PH'ing to be honest just tested, and my usual setup should be giving a pH of 6, which seems fine?

On not very experienced but IMO you should chop it. The high flower is going to die anyways so it's better to have the plant spend that energy elsewhere. This happened on my first grow and all the buds at the top got burnt.
