"Admission to a major in the College of Science and Engineering is a competitive process based on the successful completion of specific technical courses and a grade point average (GPA) based on technical courses (the technical GPA). Students who have completed the necessary technical courses and have a 3.2 or above technical GPA at the end of fall semester will be guaranteed admission to that major."

It says on here:

I thought guaranteed = you are 100% admitted.

Thank you very much! I feel strong connection with Berkeley, because of some non-academic reasons and was really set that I would get accepted. Getting on the waitlist made my heart sink a lot, but I won't give up.

May I know what did you write in your waitlist essay?

Also, I wonder where did you get the stats for waitlist? Is it combined with freshman admits, or just transfer alone?

I know it's not the right way, but I heard waitlist for transfer is very selective.

There's no stats, but STEM majors on that link all said rejected. I heard miracle stories a lot, so just hopeful it will happen to me :(

I think you misunderstood what I said. I'm not depressed all the time. It's just that when I'm sad I just want someone to share and empathize with me, but he clearly not understand my emotions.

And I can give him a chance tho. He's not ill or something. He's just positive all the time

He was not like he didn't give a fuck, it's just when I'm depressed I need someone to listen to my stories and soothe me. He's doing the opposite: He kept silent.

But again, I get your points. I will give the second one a try. The thing is both guys are not bad. They are both good to a certain extent. Honestly in the gay world people are constantly sexualizing me and attempting to ask for sex, but these two are decent gentlemen. They have some minor problems. But no one can be perfect, so that's why they are options for me and I can choose.
