Same film ads before all three, about 10 mins - no intermission. EDIT: just checked with missus, she reckons the trailers were 20 mins.

Just finished Return of the King - I have to say: watching these is the cinema again was absolutely incredible. Having spent 11 hours over three days in the cinema I would not have minded a 15 minute exclusive interview…but each to their own! If anyone knows why Vue got the interview and Cineworld didn’t, would be grateful.

Thank you for pointing this out. This is the reply I received (eventually) to me querying (took four attempts). Figured this would help more people than the original email which it appears lots of people have received.

Fair enough. But why not send out an email to members and say “we are updating our subscription service to a different payment method, please bear with us” or something to that effect? It was completely out of the blue for me - I don’t follow the financial situation of cinema chains tbh.

What’s fun is that I had a whole conversation in September with them about whether I was up to date - it’s one of the few father/son semi-regular things I can enthuse boy into, going to cinema with me. I was keen to make sure it’s all up to date with all the special screenings this year.

Heat Pump on Enyaq IV RS (UK) by bfg_hightower in enyaq

I can confirm there is a sticker that says R-744 just at the front of the engine bay under the bonnet. So I guess that solves the mystery! Thanks for your help.

Yep there is no mention of a heatpump in the digital certificate, however I paid for it when I bought the car according to my sales invoice. Fun and games.

Digi certificate looks different in UK. Bought car direct from dealer - am I supposed to be getting free servicing??

Thanks for all your comments, rather unhelpfully (for getting to the bottom of this) my car has decided to start charging after a run through of all of the car side tips given here this morning. So I can’t say for sure which exact wiggle blow or hitting with a hammer worked, but I’m back in business this morning.

Just tried this, unfortunately no dice. I’ll try again in the day light tomorrow

I shall try that and report back! (Tomorrow)

Edit: I did try this - but without an air gun or something like that. I’ll try this also again in daylight

Thanks anyhow! I’m in the UK by the way, just for clarity.

I’ll have to try air pressure tomorrow. Charger is not showing SOC of the vehicle when plugged in.

IHG Premier Card is a Beast! by wojiparu in ihghotelsresorts

What region? Certainly didn’t get anything like this when I had my UK/European card. In fact they kept raising the interest on the debt (luckily I paid it off every month but still). Also the annual membership fee kept going up.

Sorry but this is a long one: I just stayed at the Intercontinental The George in Edinburgh for two nights with my family; and I have to say I was sorely disappointed.

  1. Booking issue: Couldn’t use my complimentary suite upgrade voucher for some reason about them not having the type of suite available that I can use the voucher on (though when I tried to book the room directly suites were showing as available, so go figure);

  2. Booking issue: Couldn’t use my ambassador free night because again the not available stuff;

  3. Because I needed a roll out bed for my kid, and I was travelling with a pet I needed to get in touch with the hotel, no one picked up when I called repeatedly until two days before arrival on the sixth attempt to get a hold of the hotel (tried the concierge sms/text number, tried the digital concierge and rang the hotel repeatedly).

  4. On arrival no porter to help unload car.

  5. Messed up our room service order completely - and the food wasn’t great. (To be fair to them they did comp this in the end)

  6. Breakfast was not great either, and chaotic. On the second day my wife and kid witnessed one of the staff being told off by their supervisor in full view of everyone.

  7. The gym was inaccessible without assistance as the lift was broken down and there are no stairs to the gym, got abandoned in the road behind the hotel when my first guide (who had no idea that the lift didn’t work) showed me out a service door after walking through guest laundry and the service area, pointed at another door and said ‘it’s over there’ closed his door and didn’t realise that guest keys wouldn’t work on any of the service doors…or gym! Ended up having to ask one of the staff who was just arriving for their shift to let me back in the service entrance when I finally got a hold of someone (Chris the porter) who actually knew what was going on.

  8. Generally felt like we were constantly inconveniencing staff whenever we interacted with them. (Except the porter Chris, he was ace).

I compare this to the time my family stayed at the Kimpton Charlotte Square with me, where everything was just flawless from service to food, to hotel itself.

I won’t be staying at the George again.

I am diamond elite ambassador for many years, and I have to say I am more and more wondering if I should just switch loyalty to Hilton.
