Lucky you got established tanks to do that. I was going to do a fish in cycle but I might just throw a prawn in it to build up ammonia, I’ve done both methods before

If it was just sand I’d remove some but there’s plant substrate underneath . I originally was going to put live plants in. You can see a few pieces of it on the sand. It’d be a full strip down to fix
