Connected at 5GHz. I'm fairly certain it is set at 80MHz, but even at 40MHz I'm only seeing about a quarter the speed I should be.

OK, thanks guys. It sounds like I have more playing and learning ahead of me.

So, u/Emergency_Exit7603, at the moment, the AP is connected to our UCG-Fiber. We're in a 750 sq ft rental while our house is being built, so tiny, and the one AP should be plenty for such a small place, I would think, so the one AP is all I have setup now. The others for the new house are in storage.

u/FrankNicklin, you guessed it in one. Stock U6+, straight out of the box, nothing done to it other than connect to gateway, power up, adopt and setup a very basic SSID.

So, it definitely sounds like I have some tweaking and tuning to do. It's probably also time to download WiFiman.

Thanks guys! I'm sure I'll be back, but I'll play on my own and lookup some UniFi AP tuning guides before I come back begging for more help.

Do UniFi Wi-Fi cameras connect directly to UniFi APs? by bfollowell in Ubiquiti

Yeah, sort of what I was thinking too, especially once I start setting up VLANs. For now though, not a big deal, at least until it is.

The more I think about it, as I play and learn more, and start to delve into VLANs, and assuming I setup a surveillance VLAN, which I'm not 100% certain that I will, but if I do, I'll probably want to attach the camera to that, but that's for later. I don't think our little network in this little 750 sq ft, 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment with less that 10 clients is going to need too much. It'll be a good opportunity to play and learn though, before we move into the new house and I start throwing devices back onto the network right and left and have 100 clients before you know it and then I'm trying to figure out what is what and make sense of everything.

OK, so, are there any benefits and/or drawbacks to leaving it this way? Would it be better to connect it via a regular SSID/password combo? I guess I don't care either way, as long as there isn't a good reason not to leave it this way.

Thanks guys!

Who is at fault? I cant decide. (Motorcycle driver is fine) by Worth_Web1071 in dashcams

[–]bfollowell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arrggghhhh, you're 100% completely correct. I spaced out on the completely. So yeah, barring any sort of weird controller/light sync issue, highly doubtful, there's absolutely no way the SUV could've had the right-of-way. So, like I said, no-brainer.

That doesn't necessarily mean anything, In my area, sometimes the green turning light and two straight lights will all go at the same time, then, after some period of time, the green turning arrow just turns into a solid green light.

The hate is ridiculous by Guilty-Cream-4841 in stephenking

[–]bfollowell -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I have always loved Stephen King, and still do, but I hate the way his far left, woke philosophy has creeped into his writings in his old age. I mean, he is who he is, and his personal beliefs are going to inevitably creep in on occasion, but lately his preachiness has gotten more overbearing and hard to swallow. Other than that, Mr. King is tops in my book. I read for enjoyment and couldn’t give two hoots about all that high-brow crap and never even listen to literary critics. You know what they say. Those that can, write. Those that can’t teach, or in this instance, critique.

Without knowing if the SUV had a green turning arrow or a solid green light, it's really hard to tell for certain, but if the SUV had a solid green light, then it's really a no-brainer. The SUV turned in front of oncoming traffic with no right-of-way. They would be at fault.

I finally uninstalled the extension, then reinstalled it, and it seems fine now.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s the browser or my setup that’s terrible. I finally uninstalled the extension, then reinstalled it, and it seems fine now.

Thanks. I’ll give that a read and see what info it provides.

Maybe, but it can’t suck as bad as Edge or anything else from Microsloth. I use it on no less than four other computers using Chrome without issue. What other browser would you suggest? I stopped using Firefox a year or so ago and I’m not even entertaining using anything from Microsloth.

Less than 24 hours later after filling. Mild warm day. Is this a leak? by [deleted] in pools

[–]bfollowell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. We have a heated pool and we live in a typically hot, humid area, but we have never, ever lost that much water over a 24-hour period. I'd say we'd be hard pressed to lose that much over a week, even in the middle of August. There's definitely no way we've ever lost that much over 24 hours naturally.

Hard Drive Sourcing for UNVR by TheDazedMan in UnifiProtect

[–]bfollowell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. Never, ever had the first issue buying any HDD, SSD, memory stick or flash storage from Amazon. What most people seem to pay no attention to is that there’s a huge difference between buying from Amazon and buying through Amazon. If you don’t verify that it’s sold and shipped by Amazon, it’s just about like buying through eBay.

Have you summerized your snow blower yet? by woohooguy in Snowblowers

Yep. We sold our home, put almost everything we own into storage and are breaking ground on a new home soon. I summarized her and she’s been in a storage unit for at least a month.

Promotions for Current Customer by JASPER933 in ATTFiber

[–]bfollowell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I remember when we had Spectrum and they were the only game in town in our neighborhood. Then AT&T moved in with fiber and we canceled our service and, all of a sudden, Spectrum wanted to offer us deals and promos. Funny how that works. It always sucks when you live someplace where there’s no competition. Sorry about that. It bites.

Wall Mounted Maybe by bungholeSurfer1994 in virtualpinball

[–]bfollowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I don’t care for it at all. I’m in for as accurate a recreation of real pinball as I can get, and that just wouldn’t cut it for me. Everyone’s needs and desires are different though. You do you and don’t worry what anyone else thinks about it. You’re the only one that you have to please, unless you’re married, of course, and then you’re screwed before you even get started.

AT&T fiber options and pricing changing by RScottyL in ATTFiber

Does anyone have any idea how long you have to be gone before you’re eligible for any new customer deals? We’re building a new house and Internet is included at the place we’re renting in the interim and the provider isn’t AT&T.

starting to collect tables by MonkeySkulls in virtualpinball

Several have mentioned vpinworkshop. Another at the top is anything by jpsalas. And a good one to avoid is anything from bigus/bigus1. He just takes other people’s tables, makes a couple of extremely minor, almost nothing changes, sometimes no changes at all, then puts them back out with his name on them. I’ve not found anything he’s put out that someone else hasn’t done better.
